Great little pub. Home cooked food and well kept beer. We stopped in on a walk from Littlehampton to Arundel on a very hot day and received a great welcome from the lovely landlady who insisted all the lads had a glass of water before serving us the ales 😆 This is how all pubs should be.
Dropped in here for lunch after visiting West Beach and seeing a good menu plus it being dog friendly. We certainly weren’t disappointed and the food was excellent - I opted for one of the special of the day pies and my wife have classic fish & chips. Both were fabulous, plenty of food and nice & hot. The staff were very attentive, without being too much so, and very friendly. It wasn’t hugely busy when we went on. Thursday lunchtime but well worth visiting.
Love this place have been several times before and always a warm welcome from Helen and very helpful. Great size pitches, facilities always clean and tidy, great on site pub which serves lovely meals . Next to the river so nice walks.short walk to the station going to Brighton and Portsmouth. Highly recommended.
Really happy we stumbled across this lovely little pub after a trip to Arundel Castle. We were greeted by two lovely Scottish ladies who made you feel right at home, the food was excellent, proper homemade grub. The steak in the pie was melt in the mouth and the pate was lovely. Lovely lady behind the bar was baking a cake to put in the bottom of a homemade trifle, I was very impressed with this, just shame we were to full to try a pud!

Before stumbling upon the Ship & Anchor Pub, I had never experienced such a delightful combination of charm and warmth in a pub setting. From the moment I walked through its doors, I was captivated by both its cozy ambiance and the friendly atmosphere that enveloped the place.
First and foremost, the staff at Ship & Anchor Pub deserve accolades for their outstanding service. They welcomed me with genuine smiles and made me feel instantly at ease. Their attentiveness, efficient order handling, and helpful suggestions regarding the vast array of beers and spirits were truly commendable. It was evident that the staff members love what they do, and it translated into an unparalleled customer experience.
The decor and layout of the pub are nothing short of exquisite. Ship & Anchor Pub has managed to strike a perfect balance between being a traditional British pub and a modern establishment, creating a unique and inviting environment. The wooden accents and vintage paraphernalia adorning the walls exuded a sense of nostalgia, while the comforting plush seating areas made it almost impossible to leave. Whether you're looking for a cozy corner to relax with friends or a lively spot to watch sports events, this pub has it all.
Now, let's talk about the main attraction: the food and beverage offerings. Ship & Anchor Pub boasts an impressive selection of drinks, from traditional ales to craft beers that cater to discerning palates. I was particularly enthralled by the variety of spirits available, and the skilled bartenders managed to whip up some of the finest cocktails I've ever tasted.
The pub's food menu was no less impressive. With a delightful combination of classic pub fare and international dishes, there's something to satisfy every craving. From juicy burgers to mouthwatering fish and chips, every dish was prepared with utmost care and attention to detail. I highly recommend trying their signature items, such as the Ship's Platter or the Beer-Battered Onion Rings - they are simply divine!
Further enhancing the experience at Ship & Anchor Pub are the regular events, live music performances, and pub quizzes. The pub has truly become a community hub, fostering a sense of camaraderie among its patrons. It is a testament to the dedication and passion of the owners and staff, who continuously go above and beyond to make every visit memorable.
In conclusion, Ship & Anchor Pub is a hidden gem that embodies everything a pub should be - a cozy haven with exceptional service, delightful drinks, and delectable food. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this pub is an absolute must-visit. Ship & Anchor Pub, thank you for the unforgettable experiences and for continuously creating an atmosphere that feels like home.
Love this pub. Great food in a great setting. My dogs were so welcome. My dog, Meme had an ASBO for thinking she was the top dog in the pub. Great humour from the landlady. Looking forward to our next visit to Ford.
Highly rated.
We received such a warm welcome here, chatting with the owners and others dining there. They agreed to prepare dishes for us just outside their normal hours for food, since we had been walking, and it was delicious. The ghoulash was tasty and substantial. The pie was beautifully baked, with a good flavour of Stilton, all served with fresh al dente veg selection. And my partner chose the wonderful sticky toffee pudding
Had a lovely summer evening here after a visit to Arundel Castle. The food was extremely nice and unpretentious. The staff were friendly, approachable and helpful. The beer was good too. Couldn't fault it.
I can’t remember the last time I ate food so delicious, freshly cooked & homemade.. tasty, perfectly cooked vegetables & I the most obliging & friendly landlady who remembered my dogs name & automatically offered her a heart shaped treat & her own water bowl! Completed my day! Throughly recommend this pub. ✔️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Food was perfectly cooked. Cottage pie had such a rich, tasty sauce. Medly of fresh veg, fab chips. Relaxing, cosy space with lovely staff.
You are always assured of a friendly welcome at this pub, I am a frequent diner and can always guarantee an excellent meal. The team specialise in good food at sensible prices. Always excellent, tasty and hot.
The pub is also dog friendly provided both dog and human behave themselves!!
We were staying at an AirB&b in Arundel visiting the Carpet of Flowers at Arundel Cathedral and as we wanted to go somewhere for dinner I looked on the Internet for places nearby. We arrived at the pub at 6.30 and were greeted by a very friendly member of staff. I cannot speak highly enough of this venue - friendly staff, fast service and excellent food reasonably priced.
A lovely welcome for us and our dog who was well looked after with treats and a bowl of water. We had a fabulous meal of fish and chips, cooked to perfection. We will definitely return.
Lovely pub next to the campsite we stayed on. Unfortunately we were a bit late on a Friday night so a few of the most popular items were sold out. Food is generally excellent
The beer was good although only one ale . Both had roasts. Ample meat potato and yorkshire pud . The veg was a bit lacking in quantity .At £12.50 the price was fair
Lovely country pub, food looked excellent. We will be booking a table very soon. Friendly staff and good beer.
