Important thing to note about this place is that you should definitely book ahead if you are planning your visit, as it gets quite busy. We didn’t plan ahead as we were unaware of how busy it would be, however, it was quite busy, but the staff offered us to sit in the bar area where we could also order food via the bar and not through a waiter, which was no problem, we was just thankful that we had somewhere to sit without waiting.
The bar place is quite Loud but I supposed it was this way all throughout the whole restaurant as it seemed like it was fully booked, all the tables were occupied and more and more people kept coming.
The food took about roughly 25-30 mins, and we got 2 chicken burgers and one of their Stack burgers, don’t quite recall what it was called. It was nice and tasty and very filling as the portion was quite large.
The service was fine.
Whenever I visit Folkestone for work I always stay in the Premier Inn next door.
The hospitality you get from the pub is outstanding. I have visited on most week nights, and it is always the same, great food, great service with a nice selection on the menu. There is also a nice array of drinks on offer.
Thoroughly recommended. Will continue to visit when local.
Thank you
We both had the haddock and chips, not bad really, portion of mushy peas was meagre but really tasty. 99p for bread and butter was a bit much as was £3 for a bottle of soft drink.
No wait to be seated (Saturday mid-afternoon). Friendly staff, all the menu items were available. The food was of a good standard and arrived promptly. There were quite a few families with younger children which shows a wide range of menu items and how good the service is. From experience I know how quick younger children start to moan about being bored and get fidgety.
I was in this place for three consecutive evenings the Friday and Saturday were superb with the lady behind the bar being very helpful, jolly and good at her job. Different story on Sunday evening a guy in a grey uniform shirt was absolutely terrible, he would walk around aimlessly trying to avoid customer contact. If it wasn't for this the place would have got 5 for service
This wasn't my first time visiting this establishment and every time I had been beforehand it had always been a mixed bag of reactions.
However this time I could not fault the service I had received. Our waitress was polite and friendly and despite on the one occasion where we had to goto the maitre D (who was also very excellent and handled an awkward situation created by another member of the public towards myself) I could not fault the experience they had created for my birthday.
Food was fairly swift to our table however the portion sizes were somewhat smaller than anticipated. I requested the mixed grill with my steak to be medium rare and that was perfectly cooked. My gammon was beautiful, sausages were flavourful and my eggs and chips were that of a reasonable standard. Onto my pudding, I ordered the chocolate tart and that was extremely indulging, apparently it was a popular choice and I could most definitely see why!
What made my visit that bit more special was that the staff had surprised me with a mini bottle of bubbly and a card. Little acts of care and kindness like this are the reasons why I review places. If you want to feel that bit more special on your special day I would recommend coming here.
The decor is sleek but friendly with some added flair of style and a nice bar at the side with plenty of seating all round. It is both family friendly and relaxed date vibes. Mostly because of the staff, I will be coming back again! Thank you so much!
Friendly staff, easy parking. Limited crisp choice.
Just gone for drinks and catch-up with friends.
Average atmosphere but no screens and could chat easily.
Best option in the area
We needed somewhere that had room for 11 of us and they managed it easily, not even a question just booked a table.
We had a lovely lady serving our table that took her time when the kids were deciding what they wanted to eat and listened to them when they wanted to say their own order.
The food was really good and the prices were too. Recommend for a family dinner out.
Another pub serving the Premier Inn , the Brick field is clean, well stocked and we'll run. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food and drink hit the spot.
It's what it is😄 We wanted something simple and not too far to travel. It delivered, the staff were very good, very friendly and attentive. We had mains and desserts. The menu was okay and typical of a chain. The dining area was clean and all tables cleared. Definitely a step up on a Wethersp**ns 😁 We had a good laugh at the Steak and Ale pie I ordered. however, what it lacked in presentation and variety of veg it made up for in taste. We would go again in similar circumstances, all in all a pleasant and modest experience.
Really impressed with the service received here. Our server Callum went above and beyond to make sure everyone's needs were catered for. The food was excellent and everyone enjoyed their meal. We booked online before we arrived and I would definitely recommend people do this as the pub does get very busy!
Not at all bad. Busy place on a Sunday. We went without a reservation and were found a table. Staff really friendly, food was good and there's plenty of parking. The longest wait was for the ice cream which was a bit bizarre and a tad frustrating. We will go back.
