Loved the new vegan menu. Salad was really tasty. The tart was delicious and just had the tart at home for dessert. Irish waiter was lovely too. Well done for being one of the first for a vegan menu at a pub,my friend recently ate off the menu and really enjoyed it too. #veganmenuisawinner

My boyfriend is local but I've been coming to The Oatsheaf with him for a year now. Despite it being busy on weekends (as expected because weekend - Friday & Saturday) we always get served in a pretty timely manor. The bar staff are so friendly & lovely. I've even had bar staff go out of their way to help out & make our stay enjoyable even though it always is. It's hard work in the pub trade & considering all that, we always get great service. Had a burger outside about a month ago. Wagu burger is amazing. Had a 3 course meal tonight & was absolutely content! They actually serve & know how to make arancini! The duck salad is a beautiful balance of flavours & has a lot of duck in it. Their sweet potato chips are seasoned brilliantly! My other half had the rib eye steak. I had a taste. Has so much flavour. The seasoning is just perfect. We had a lovely dinner. Lighting & ambiance was lovely (I might point out Friday night & busy but didn't effect a thing). Our waitress was lovely, always checked on us. Also had a nice gentleman serve us too. Again, the staff are lovely & hospitable. Relaxing & just a nice chilled evening enjoying great food & drink. We always drink here, all the time, but we will be eating here EVEN MORE INDEFINITELY! Thank you to all the staff who serve us our drinks & the chefs who make the wonderful food. Mucho appreciateo for everything. See you guys soon

Place has a welcoming atmosphere, lots of parking. Excellent friendly service, decent variation of options on the menu, quick at ordering even when fairly busy. The food was really good. Would go back 100%

Lovely pub to have lunch with family. Great size, fantastic decor and charm. Decent food, and the chef even agreed to cook our daughter's chicken nuggets so they looked similar to a famous high street brand in order to encourage her to eat them. Staff brought drinks to our table as well once we'd sat down as a group so great service. Beware of the parking charges - the pub car park is only free for paying customers, a fact which I did not notice on the day of our visit and subsequently received a parking fine from Euro Car Parks. Thankfully Alex at the Oatsheaf was extremely helpful and got the charges removed because we were paying customers.

Not the cheapest of places, we spent about £40 a head with a main, dessert and a pint each. The food is very good though and I can highly recommend the roast belly pork. Parking is free if you remember to input your reg on the tablet at the bar.

Fantastic food, really impressed with the variety. Waiting staff were attentive and polite. Overall experience was really good. Only slight criticism is that the noise was quite overwhelming with low ceilings and full tables. I was with 2 people who wear hearing aids and they both said that the noise was the only thing that let it down.

Fabulous wait staff. Food not bad. Room for improvement though. Steak not the most flavourful and crackling with pork belly was not really edible. Overall though we had a nice lunch.

Service was good and attentive. Scallops starter was amazing. But the steak was disappointing. Ordered bone in ribeye steak but served with a normal ribeye steak instead. The waiter changed it but a bone in sirloin was served. It was overcooked not medium rare. Quality was so so. The sides were not as described in menu. Overpriced.

My Wife and I like the Oatsheaf as a pub and consider it our ‘ Local’ . The staff are great and the range of drinks and it’s position in the town mean it’s very popular. That said we haven’t eaten there for a couple of years . That will now change . We tried the ‘ Wine and Dine Experience’ and it was truly enjoyable and great value . The offer ,for those interested ,is available Thurs to Saturday. At £100 per couple it includes any starter / main/ dessert ( or cocktail ) . The wines available in the offer are approx £45 per bottle normally. We had the Scallop risotto as a starter which was excellent, followed by a Fillet Steak ( medium rare) and a Ribeye ( medium) with sides , sauces etc . We swapped the dessert for an expresso martini as we were full by this stage. The steaks were cooked perfectly to order Indeed the meal was lovely and the ambience in the smaller dining area was spot on . Lovely staff !! We will be trying the Chateaubriand next ! Vince & Mel
