What amazing food first time there tonight looks like a beautiful country pub however the food is out of this world and is up there with some of the best London restaurants. Quality service and food
Fantastic food and service. We have had a lovely evening and would definitely recommend it.
Great dinning, best pub food in a long long time
Best pub restaurant North of London
Food and service are virtually faultless. This is a cute little gastropub with a nice garden. The food has little twists or fusions and every meal has been delicious. The desserts in particular are varied and amazing. The staff all seem happy and are attentive. We will be back!
Friendly staff, attentive and good sense of humour. Extensive interesting wine list. The food was stunning, the best flavours combined with creativity and flare.
Absolutely beautiful. The food was lovely, great drink selection, and an amazing sticky toffee pudding.
We went for lunch the ambiance was lovely the service very good
They had several local Chiltern beers and the food was beautiful
We will definitely be going back for 4 people 2 courses and drinks reasonable price
Sunday lunchtime for 7 booked in advance for birthday celebrations. Roast dinner huge plates, cauliflower in bechemal sauce with Somerset brie.
What an amazing experience. Been there for the second time and everything was perfect : delicious food and a great service. Good wine list too. Can definitely recommend and will be back soon.
Excellent food and service. Positively lovely experience. The fish and chips were the best that I've had in a long time and my wife's sea bass was equally well prepared. The meringue desert is the one of the best deserts that I've had anywhere. Period. Pick a sunny day and sit outside.
Really lovely atmosphere. Great food and drinks. Good choice of dishes and specials as well. Attentive and friendly staff. The Steamed cod with Nori crust was particularly good.
Excellent Sunday lunch venue with outstanding roast beef and Yorkshire pudding cut your liking, in medium rare, medium and well done, vegetables in our case green beans and cauliflower au gratin, fresh and delicious. All served by Jo promptly with add ons of horseradish and Dijon mustard and coffee and desert to follow.
We enjoyed dinner for 4 at the Bricklayers Arms in Flaunden near Hemel Hempstead. They have a very good reputation for great service and gorgeous food and the certainly didn’t disappoint us. Your writer had the scallops starter followed by the venison pie both delicious. Service is friendly attentive and helpful.
Yummy well made food, friendly as always and super accommodating as usual.
Local pub with top end food and lovely atmosphere.
A fantastic meal in lovely surroundings. The food was well cooked and served at a nice pace so we didn't feel rushed. The portions were a nice size so if you have 3 courses you leave feeling nicely full not stuffed. A good night out
Food was fantastic, had the pork which was just phenomenal and the halibut. Great cooking, will be back to try some of the rest of the menu. The service was really good too, pitched just right. Thoroughly recommend.
I have been here a couple of times now and am always blown away. The food is phenomenal - my partner believes it’s the best fish he’s ever eaten in a restaurant. The service is wonderful and it is a joy to come here. We will absolutely be back, highly recommend.
We’ve popped in here every now and then when our weekend walks in the area have taken us through Flaunden, but having eaten several fantastic meals here now, it’ll likely feature more regularly on our routes.
The staff are always very friendly and welcoming and while it’s certainly not the cheapest pub around, the food is definitely a significant cut above regular pub fare; I’d go as far as to say it’s at the quality of a fine restaurant.
The chef is clearly modern while respecting the classics. Their chocolate brownie is the best I’ve ever had! They also have a very extensive wine list and do some interesting spritzers and cocktails. We are looking forward to more lovely meals here again soon!
The Bricklayer's Arms in Flaunden is always a reliable venue for a special occasion. The food is consistently at a high level, yesterday I enjoyed a very tender lamb with a tarragon jus, and a phenomenal yuzu lemon dessert with raspberry sorbet.
The service is excellent and they even presented us a complimentary ice cream when they heard we were celebrating an anniversary.
Wide selection of wines, also by the glass.
Always special to go to even for a hastily planned lunch for pleasure or work. The menu is exciting and the is always well prepared, served hot and delicious. The crab starter and aged beef were superb with creamed spinach and cauliflower cheese. The wine was brilliant and not overly expensive. It is a pricey meal out but it’s unrivalled for quality and experience anywhere in the area. It’s our favourite indulgence. And the staff are lovely, always.
Cosy, countryside pub with reliably delicious menu. A family favourite for celebrations of any kind - birthdays and anniversaries. Never disappoints.
