There was a queue, which is a good sign! A real traditional fish and chip shop. The food was tremendous. I had a large cod and chips, the batter was the best I’ve had in a very long time, the fish was delicious and the chips done to perfection. Full transparency provided on the source of the food, which I think is a great.

Queuing out of the door on arrival, which is usually a good sign of things to come! Fish orders taken on entering. Normally I would have haddock, but for a change I ordered the large cod, with chips and peas. Delicious! They have a nice area to the rear of the shop, with picnic benches. Will be back next time we are in the area.

Friday evening dinner. We were recommended to come to this chippy and we were not disappointed. The haddock was cooked with care and to perfection, the chips and mushy peas were fantastic too. This is how fish and chips should taste and not the greasy rubbish you get elsewhere. Their prices are very fair and there’s the added bonus of a lovely outside seating area to the rear of the chippy. They are an award winning business and it’s easy to see why, 10 out of 10 for service and quality…we will definitely return.

What a gem of a place and so friendly. We were told where the fish and crab were caught and when the oh so tasty crab cakes were made (that morning). The fish was beautiful and cooked to order and we ate in the outside seating area, at the back with some tables under cover. Excellent. We will return. Check the opening times as it changes with the seasons. We had fish and crab cakes, the chips and fishcake looked good. They even tell you the variety of potato used. One review said the batter was too light but there were loads of scraps available, just ask. Update August. I'm not a chip lover but for these I made an exception, they were so crispy and delicious. The crab cakes were as good as before if not better. The haddock was delicious, not over battered but plenty of delicious scraps if wanted. My hubby hasn't stopped talking about the cod, perfectly cooked and a generous size. We shared the chips and the crab cakes and the delicious tartare sauce, don't miss the tartare sauce it just finished the meal off. The chips were divided for us which was great and the service was as friendly as ever. You can now get fresh dressed crab and small chips. Can't wait to try it. They opened at 12noon Wednesday until 8pm The same Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Out of season it may be 3pm until 8pm. Worth going out of your way for. Delicious.

Both vegan options of battered fish & saveloy are excellent plus there's even vegan tartare, and all the trimmings. Friendly staff, covered seating out back protected us from the rain. Big portions!

Excellent quality food and service. The long queue down the street and the fact they are 2023 national fish and chip winners says it all. The long wait was worth it. However, for those in the know, you can avoid the queue by using their Click and Collect service by scanning the QR code outside the shop. Having got your order, you can then take advantage of using their very pleasant garden area at the rear to eat your food.

We were staying at Wold Farm in our campervan on 24th May 2023, and we decided to walk along the cliff tops to the North Landing. We'd always intended to walk onto Lighthouse Fisheries because we'd heard so many good reviews about them, but when we got to the North landing, we were knackered & we were debating whether or not to carry on for fish & chips. But we did decide to go, and all the way saying "these fish & chips had better be worth it!" We eventually got there around 4.30, both absolutely chin strapped, we placed our order & we said we need to find somewhere to sit down & eat. The really nice guy who served us ( not sure if it was Luke or Gary) said they had a seating area around the back of the shop, and recommended we go there, sit ourselves down, chill out & he would bring the fish & chips to us (excellent!). We didn't have to wait too long before he brought them to us, and when we opened the box, wow!! we were not disappointed. They were to die for, absolutely flipping gorgeous, the haddock was so tasty and moist, and the batter was crisp, not at all greasy. The chips were sublime!! Proper chips, and again, not at all greasy. We asked how they managed to get the chips so crisp, and he said that they were triple fried!! I love fish & chips, but fish & chips don't like me, they usually give me indigestion because they are usually too greasy but not these, we wolfed them down and they didn't upset my stomach at all. Basically, what I am trying to say is, these were by far, the best fish & chips we have ever had, ever!!! If you ever go to Flamborough, you MUST have Lighthouse Fisheries fish & chips. We will, without a doubt, be going back again. Extremely friendly and extremely gorgeous fish & chips. No wonder they won the award for Best Newcomer 2023, well deserved!!

We ate here last week, we had fish and chips and sat outside in the garden/rear seating area. The fish was delicious, very thick and meaty and cooked in oil which I personally prefer compared to dripping. The menu I saw online before we visited clearly stated the fish was cooked in oil, not dripping so there weren't any surprises about that and it tasted great. The chips were lovely, triple cooked and hardly any little hard ones or scraggy bits. All our party really enjoyed them and it was lovely sitting outside in what is sort of like a beer garden at the back of the chip shop. Would recommend.
