A nice place with a great selection of classic pub food. The staff were really friendly and service was efficient. The food was of a great quality.
*dog friendly* bar area. Lovely meals, cocktails and great service at The Greyhound Finchampstead, as usual. Great spring menu - 2 or 3 courses, £21/ £24. Great food, and great value. Dog treats and water bowl waiting at our table. Love this place.
Fab food. Underrated place, should be packed given the quality of the food, decor, and ale! Really good.
Beautiful restaurant with a stunning outside area.
Great food and fantastic service 😊
Vegetarian roast option was delicious 😋
Only improvement would be to make the menu clearly highlight the vegetarian and vegan options 🌱
Booked here for a birthday meal and checked reviews prior and certainly lived up to expectations. Ordered a few snacks to share for starters.
We all Ordered beef Wellington x 6 as sharing between two it was cooked amazing and all sides accompanied this perfectly.
Friendly and helpful service and manged to have table in pub as we have dog with us.
The puddings were ok bit disappointed compared with mains.
Lovely family celebration dinner and certainly pub to recommend!
Enjoyed a fantastic Saturday lunch, from start to finish everything was perfect. Treated by the wonderful attentive staff who gave menu recommendations that were greatly received! We went with two of the recommended specials - scallops and skate wing - both you could tell were cooked with care and attention and were delicious. All the staff were warm and engaging, not something you always find around these parts. They also have a small shop attached to the pub which we visited as we left and couldn't resist buying a slice of cake. Will certainly be back!
Came here with a big group for a Sunday roast and was SO impressed! Our waitress was so friendly, helpful and the service was very quick. Food was really tasty with big portions, genuinely one of the best roasts i’ve had! Can’t wait to come back :-)
Our party had a few allergies between us which was no problem for the kitchen and we were provided with 3 delicious courses which were suitable to our various dietary requirements.
I had the best plant based main ever I could happily eat and enjoy the gnocchi on a daily basis.
Thank you
See you again soon
We went for brunch, the outside and inside of the pub are gorgeous! Especially the outside in the sunshine!! Today as its wintery we were inside, staff were super friendly and accomdating, prices are a little steep and for the brunch menu I would prefer a few more classic choices as it felt like more of a lunch menu than brunch. Overall however its a lovely pub and the staff were fab, worth a visit
Very very impressive. Lovely atmosphere that somehow manages to get sophisticated gastro-pub and local boozer (done posh!!) in to the same pub. Excellent menu - verging on fine dining but down to earth enough that it’s not pretentious. Lovely wine list. Attentive swift service. It’s not cheap - £140 dinner for two with booze. But it’s worth it. Will be back.
The restaurant is lovely and cosy. We had the duck beast and the plaice. Both were cook beautiful, although the plaice was quite rich, but nonetheless tasty. The salad and bread were good sides for the plaice. Would come again to try more of their tasty looking dishes
A magnificent place - delicious food on the 2 occasions I was there, great selection of beers and wines, and the staff are wonderful. I recommend trying the specials 100%, the kitchen knows how to put together delicious and unique dishes.
Plenty of parking space, and also a beautiful village shop.
Superb! The food, service and general atmosphere is fantastic, would describe it as casual fine dining more than a pub. Children’s menu needs some work, but staff very accommodating with my sons fussy requirements.
Amazing food amazing service and atmosphere I took my father for his 85 birthday and he raved about his lamb shank and my hake was to die for ! I recently ate at the beehive in white Waltham which is nice but this is exceptional fabulous will definitely be back
Really lovely meal. Menu was a little different from usual pub menus which was great. Service was very attentive and friendly. Good choice of wine. Overall lovely evening
We thoroughly enjoyed our impromptu visit to this lovely place. The decor make the Greyhound very welcoming and stylish creating a relaxing and cosy ambience. Three bar area is just perfect to enjoy drinks, snacks and a chat with friends. The restaurant is very well laid out and has character.
Most importantly the food was absolutely excellent. It's refreshing to see a menu which is both seasonal and clearly has been given some thought. Interesting, well balanced dishes make it really difficult to choose what to order. I suppose that's a good sign for a great restaurant, you just can't wait to go back and try other dishes.
Everything we ordered was exceptionally well presented and packed with wonderful flavours.
The quality of the service was outstanding. Our waiter, Alistair looked after us really well. He was highly professional. His knowledge of the menu meant he was able to describe with authority and in detail each dish.
Attention to detail was clear throughout, from the food to the service.
The Jerusalem artichoke, truffle and almond ricotta starter was an excellent combination of flavours. The other starter was just as tasty consisting of smoked goose breast, rilette and chutney.
For main course the shepherds pie served with a lamb cutlet was absolutely sumptuous. An open tart of pumpkin, chicory, ceps puree and finished with grated Old Winchester cheese delivered in both flavour and texture.
We will definitely be back soon to make sure we try some of the other dishes as well as the very appealing dessert menu.
Great meal here last night for my husbands birthday. Generous portions and high quality ingredients. Friendly attentive service.
Prices reflect the quality and service, so not cheap. For information: 12.5% service charge added to bill (happy to pay this).
The beef wellington is amazing and my husband ordered this £62 sharing meal just for him and then we all shared the 2nd portion which was a nice treat. He has a big appetite and reckoned he could have managed it to himself!
