Lovely old building with rustic feel. Old scrubbed wood tables and eclectic chairs and historical photos etc. We didn't have the food, so cannot comment. Popped over in the evening for a drink and check out this beutiful building.
Lovely old style pub with nice beer, food menu looked good π π π
My family had a large gathering here (23 of us) and the staff were excellent. Our food was delicious and came out at the same time which, having worked in the industry, is no mean feat. It was hot, freshly prepared and very generous. Best fish and chips I've had anywhere and everyone else was very complimentary about their meals too.
Beautiful old pub. Nice staff and great range of beers.
Great food and superb service! Very friendly atmosphere, all ages in for meals or just a drink! Would be 5 star but a tad pricey!! Will still go backππ
We come here yearly for New Year's Day meal, except January 2021 because of lockdown π€·π½ββοΈ hands down the best fish and chips in East Anglia ππ½ππΌπ€ we love the food, the vibes and the service. Price of drinks and food are a bit more expensive than your usual family restaurants but you get what you pay for ππΌall being well, we will be back again New Year's Day 2023 for the family lunch π
A lovely, surprising find at the heart of this Suffolk honeypot. A traditional an English tavern as you could possibly find. Low ceilings, original beams, original feel, and utterly distinctive. Food served (didn't eat) from 12-2 & evenings. The menu looked appetising and full of local fayre. Beer selection to accommodate most tastes and cider on draught for a hot summer days drink in the beer garden or the large green out front.
Staff were friendly and beer wasn't too expensive. Gonna go back and eat one day.
Lovely old pub, with a great atmosphere. Very accommodating friendly staff serving great food. Will definitely be going back.
What a lovely old pub. Mind the beams they're very low! I'm 5'8" and just about got under with 2" heels on!
The pub had a very welcoming and roaring wood fire in the middle of the room and the atmosphere was very warm and cozy.
The menu looked great with lots of lovely things to tempt.
The roads around and in the car park are very holey and ill kempt. But you can forgive that for the wonderful pub.
We went in February but I have it on good authority that it gets very busy in the warmer months, so I should think you would need to book a table if you wanted to eat.
Well worth a visit.
Update.... 8.5.19
Had a meal here. Very good food. Excellent. Highly recommend the place.
Always have a good meal here. The portions are decent and a very good choice. Prices have gone up. However, they have everywhere these days!!
Very friendly staff.
Great little pub, looks like it's been there for hundreds of years, very pleasant team, knowledgeable about the menu choices.
Good food and specials board.
Lovely selection of drinks.
Well worth a visit!
A lovely, traditional English pub with low ceilings, original beams, original feel and wood fires. Very welcome on a cold and wet day.
Had a quick lunch and drinks. Food was very nice and atmosphere was very welcoming.
Arrived on the off chance of a spare table, which there was. There was four of us and we all had something different to eat, the burger was over cooked and stodgy with over cooked chips, my gammon was a little under cooked but chips were over cooked again. No complaints from the other two in our party. The pub was busy and the staff polite and helpful. Been before but not in a rush to go back.
Lovely food, service great, first time visiting for a while, quite shocked at pricing and no garnish included, I suspect its the state of economy affecting all businesses
My partner and I spent Valentine's day at the Old Pilot Hut and popped into the pub for a nightcap.
