Love this place. Good food and drink. Great staff. Seating layout is very good. The only downer is that smoking is allowed outside despite it being under cover which can spoil a lovely meal and the sea air.

Always our favourite place to eat/drink when we go to Felixstowe have eaten breakfast lunch and dinner here and never disappointed hard to get a seat outside sometimes says it all on a sunny day..I do agree what another customer said about smoking outside it can spoil a breakfast when yr eating but fortunately has only happened twice so far..

All food cooked fresh and you could tell by the quality, service was excellent although a bit pricey. But you have to pay for good quality food, would highly recommend The Alex.

Good food and excellent service. The waitress moved us to a window seat that had become free so we had a view of the lights on the prom.

Popped in for a quick drink and bite to eat. Haven't been in here for many years but still a lovely cafe to visit. Lovely staff, not too busy but busy enough to make a good atmosphere. Had Nachos which were good and had them topped with pulled pork. At least made with real cheese!

Went here yesterday for the 1st time, and I'll definitely be back. The staff were all really friendly and the food was fantastic. You pay a little more than other places but I'd personally say it's well worth it. I like the fact you can add extras onto your meal and the prices are all clear on the menu. They have plenty of specials and also happy hour early evening where a pint is about £4. The cocktails were really good. Great views and a lovely atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend.

Great food, brilliant atmosphere. After travelling late from Bristol to walk the Suffolk coastal path, they kept the kitchen open for us to place an order last minute. The manager was great and the staff were excellent.

Nice place to eat but certainly on the more pricey side with a burger 17.00 and extra cheesy fries on the side 4.00 . So what do you get for that. Well the burger though tasty was a bit on the tough side for me. But other may like theirs well done. Cheesy Fries were the highlight, and probably the best I have had in along time. No squirtie cheese here but lots and lots of good quality mature cheddar. Staff were very friendly and food arrived at a quick pace and piping hot. Menu for me seemed quite limited. All in all a nice experience of a bit on the expensive side.

Lovely on the beach little restaurant. Decent looking menu , nicely laid out place that looked clean and vibrant. On a lovely day like I had sitting on the little terrace was pleasant and cool in the shade. Really nice to sit , chill and have a small bite to eat. My steak baguette was devine and the caramelized onions was top notch. Chips beautiful cooked and seasoned. My only gripe is for £13 dish that did not include the chips was a.little steep . I would of expected a slightly bigger portion or more garnish to go go with the dish like some coleslaw but it was a absolute awesome baguette. Some lovely cocktails on offer to enjoy as you watch the world go by. Staff was really attentive and polite and overall a really well run place and lovely place to visit when coming to the beach side. Great place , well worth the visit , specially when the weather is good. As someone who has spent many years in the industry , I would ask the owners to consider having full table service in the summer because I think you can really maximise the up selling potential of the place , if you had someone taking orders , pushing the little extras but also letting people fully relax and not have to worry about getting up , can really add to drink sales. But that's just a small observation but the place is busy enough to suggest they do well.

Beautiful food. I told the waitress that I'm eating keto. She asked the kitchen if one of the dishes contains flour (it did) then swapped out the carb-y things from the burger for salad, she even notified me that the dressing is made with honey so I could ask them not to mix it. Everything tasted amazing and the service was superb.

I've had to leave a review because of the 'wow factor' we got at the 'New Year's Eve' meal here 2023/2024. The welcome was very good, the food was very very good, but, the service was very excellent. I/we have been to many top restaurants in the UK, Europe and the US, also a few Michelin restaurants. Believe me when I say the food and the service here was easily on par with our past experiences at very renowned top restaurants. We had a fantastic night, well above expectations. I/we had to drop a star due to the doormen being (putting it politely) a little unprofessional. My wife at 42 years old came outside to stand with me as I was having a cigar, she got cold after a few minutes and as she tried to re-enter the pub she was quite aggressively pushed back by a Doorman/bouncer because the pub was full. She did give back as good as she got, she also explained to him that we had a table booked here above in the restaurant and spent over £200. She said that should be a good reason for her to re-enter. He did pull a frown and laugh at her, so my parter got her receipt out for proof. He let her in..... We did not let this ruin our night, but it did put a dent in our mood. We did plan staying all night to celebrate the new year, but, we did leave shortly after this incident and went home to celebrate the new year. I want to make a couple of suggestions, that is,, , hire doormen who are more professional, not 'Nightclub' type doormen. (I did see a doorman wearing a jacket with the logo of a very near nightclub). In my opinion a doorman with a more professional approach rather than the aggressive approach would suit this pub far more. I also want to suggest that either using a stamp or wristband may be worth using with paying customers who have booked a table, as to avoid this happening again in the future. Anyway, many thanks to all the staff at The Alex Fantastic 👍👍👍👍👍

This cafe has a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. We love the brunch menu plus having been few times the rest of the menu is slightly also excellent. We keep going back again and again.

Excellent brunch spot and you can sit outside, it's a bit noisy but there are heat lamps. Good menu and a very friendly staff, excellent fresh food and speedy service. Good range of options for all diets and a food selection of twas, coffees cold drinks etc.

I enjoyed a lovely lunch at The Alex with my parents a few weeks ago. It was the first time I’d been to the café for a while, and although the prices had notably but understandably increased, the food was as good as ever. My dad recommended the bubble and squeak cakes which he’d had on his previous visit, and which both he and I ordered on this occasion (with a side of bacon for me). They were excellent; piping hot with beautifully runny eggs on top. The café also makes a brilliant coffee.

We ate lunch here on the spur of the moment today and were massively impressed. Lunch for 4, 2 adults, a 12 and 9 year old. What impressed me most was the attention to detail with each delicious meal. You don’t have to go to the trouble of frying the sour dough first, or creating an unusual or delicious dressing for a salad, or making a flavoured mayonnaise, but when you do all of those things it just gives the meal an edge that you won’t get in most Brasseries which churn out the same old generic meals without this level of thought. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. Outside seating was available with a view of the beach. In addition, my husband wanted to add - the poached eggs were perfectly done.

Delicious 😋 Tasty catch of the day and the croissant was lush! Not often you can find somewhere so close to the seafront that is this great quality! A definite must if you’re nearby.

Can’t recommend a trip to this brasserie enough. Too often business with sea views just do not care, they are going to get the footfall, and basically fob everyone off with poor quality fare and the most fake and basic of service. Not so here!! Tasty freshly prepared on location food. ✅ Excellent staff ✅ Excellent service ✅ Reasonable fair prices ✅ Brilliant.
