Finally found a traditional pub where you feel welcome and can sit in peace and enjoy a good conversation over a good pint. The food and selection of real ales is excellent including my favourite Hoegaarden. The staff and Poppy the cat make you feel welcome and to top your visit off all you need to do is walk up the steps in the garden for a beautiful view of the Creek.

What a gem of a place. We were introduced to The Shipwrights on 9 Nov when we had lunch there with old friends. Situated deep in the Faversham marshes, desolate and isolated it's so atmospheric and so very cheery and welcoming on a cold wet day. The owners / staff were very friendly and the home cooked food is superb. Being several hundred years old it is rich in smuggling history and apparently with it's own ghost. No noisy music or plastic, and noisy kids probably wouldn't be over-welcome, It's just a good Olde Worlde cosy English pub with real ale; the sort you'd want to take visitors to show them a slice of old England. I'm sure we'll be back.

What an incredible find! Oozing with 300+ years of history and character, every little corner has ambiance and amazing vibes bestowed by the excellent furnishings and low ceilings. It's a long walk from anywhere, so get wheels, and keep going past the point where it looks like you're driving into the middle of a marsh. Use a GPS satnav if you must. It's worth it. The barman is friendly and clever, there are great beers and real ales / cask ales (CAMRA recognized for 20 years?). The bacon and brie sandwich was far tastier than a lot of homemade-feeling places. It's dog and kid friendly if the little ones are friendly, and the locals are very friendly as well. Add to that, a big, lovely garden for sunny days!

Great 300 year old pub at the end of a lengthy unmade pot-holed lane serving great local beers straight from the cask, decent home prepared food and friendly staff. Well worth the drive out to the pub for the unique experience.

I am so glad to see this pub is still here almost untouched since I was about 18 I am 63 now. What a blessing. I intend to visit next time I am in Kent. Thrilled. It was an exciting place to find don';t go too fast... a hideaway and here it is just as was!

Loved everything about this pub, a classic place that is rare to find these days. The choice and quality of the ales served straight from the cask was first class. The service was friendly and the food delicious. Glad we chose this one over the other local ones recommended to us.

Really nice hidden pub what seems in the middle of no-where :D but full of character! Amazing find! We were on a little roadtrip when decided to have lunch there and were really pleasantly surprised. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside in a cosy garden. Food was delicious! It's also dog and kid friendly. Highly recommended when you are in the area.

Proper pub with well kept cellar and great selection of Ale. Cosy and comfortable, with well behaved dogs allowed inside, and an appreciated no tolerance policy on misbehaved ones. No nonsense service and basic pub grub. Ticks all the boxes for a great local pub.

A delightful, friendly pub .An oasis on a hot day. The menu had limited options for Vegans so plumped for the homemade vegetable curry,it was very tasty and a generous size. A pretty walk along the creek helped make room for another pint on our return. Hidden gem.

Nothing has changed in the 5 years since my last visit, I'm glad to say. On a nice day, a wonderful place to relax with a pint. Poor weather? A cosy place to relax with a pint. Well worth finding (not easy). When you have the "this can't be right" moment as you bounce down the track and buildings disappear, keep going!

What can I say.... Was really surprised by this really beautiful surroundings, friendly staff and such a great homemade food! Must be the best pub we have ever been! As there was 10 of us visiting Faversham, we have not booked and have no table to sit at... But we really enjoyed the cosy corner on the sofas by the fireplace 😍 the atmosphere has really created a memorable impression! Will definitely come by again!
