A group of 10 of us visited The Alma in Painter's Forstal for lunch today and it was simply wonderful! The food was delicious, fresh and cooked perfectly. The portions were generous and the flavours were amazing. The service was great, the staff very friendly and accommodating. The prices are very reasonable. I would recommend this great little pub without hesitation - so pleased we visited and we will definitely be back again.

I should be reviewing the food and service but as always it was great can't recommend this pub enough. So let's review the garden instead. Its beautiful sat out there last night to have our meal and enjoy the warm evening. The scent of the stunning flowers filled the air. It's truly a gem of a garden beautifully kept and really colourful and real attention to detail. You'd be mad not to visit it. Thank you Claire and Richard for another lovely meal in your beautiful garden x

10 of us went there for mine and my daughters birthday Saturday just gone. We used to go there many years ago but the owners left and was just a pub for a while but very pleased it's yet again a great food pub. The meals we all had were exceptional and the service was just as good.

My mate knows the owner and said it is well worth a visit, it certainly was and certainly will be again. A lovely village pub with nice friendly staff, good atmosphere, excellent choice of beers and superb food at a reasonable price.

Had a lovely meal last night. Delicious food served on nice hot plates. Steak & kidney pudding was superb, lots of meat & kidney & the best gravy I've ever tasted! Everything was beautifully presented. As for the sweet, well, the gooseberry crumble was so tasty, the right amount of sharpness & sweetness. The shortbread with raspberries was another hit! Melt in the mouth biscuits. Great service & excellent food! Well done Richard & Clare.

A lovely village pub in a fantastic part of the countryside. I stopped off there whilst on a bike ride, I locked my bike up outside and went in to enjoy a very tasty Cajun burger and a pint of Birra Moretti. The service was good, the food was brought out promptly and I was made to feel very welcome. I plan to go back and enjoy their hospitality again, but maybe next time I will sit in the beer garden and enjoy the sunshine (when the weather improves).

We stayed at the local camp site and thought we would give it a try for lunch. Nothing prepared us for the wonderful meal we had. Started off with a baked Camembert to share, followed by what can only be described as the best steak and kidney pudding we’d ever had. Portion sizes were also very generous so much so that we couldn’t fit in dinner that night. To add to this, we were able to take our dog with us. Staff were very friendly. A good experience all round and we would highly recommend.

Not easy to find a place where they still serve steak and kidney pudding but the Alma does and tasty it was too. The suet layer just right, not too thick. Well filled, lovely gravy and roast potatoes and vegetables on the side. Wish it was closer to home.

Stayed in the campsite just up the road. Made a reservation as we have a dog, very friendly on the phone and made the reservation. Food was great, service was very polite and accommodating. Really lovely pub and the garden is very well kept. Will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Lovely village pub, clearly popular with the locals. Food was delicious and good portions. Lightest batter on the fresh cod we've ever had. The Chicken Sizzler was different, and very popular. Reasonable pricing, outdoor space available. Cosy setting, loved the old photos on the wall showing some of the history of Faversham. 10/10 would definitely visit again.

1st time we have eaten there. The food was delicious, I had steak and kidney pudding,(Simply magical). There was two people running the front of house both very professional. We believe the landlord was present, if so he never spoke to us , but he spoke to all the other tables, not a major problem but if our pub we would have checked everything was ok for the paying customers. Will go back .

On recommend from the local camping site we were staying at, my wife and I dropped in for food and had a great meal: Delicious Steak + Kidney pie (local butcher sourced meat and filled to capacity!) - truly better than Mum made, and a Red Thai Chicken Curry that actually kept the wife quiet for a good half hour!! We were really pleased and will wholeheartedly recommend the Alma for quality food, good pricing, and all served with excellent hospitality, (many thanks Millie) and Rich the landlord - well done, we’ll be back! 👍🏻 (ps - our Springer Spaniel was allowed to sit with us at table in garden no probs)
