Came back for a roast today and it was absolutely fantastic the portion you get for the price is amazing. crina the head chef knows how do to do a brilliant roast. Fergus our waiter was absolutely lovely super friendly and happy to help and certainly made us feel welcome. We were seated somewhere where we could still have the push chair which was nice as some places it is difficult.
The Ball and Wicket has several very positive characteristics which make it one of our faves. As you arrive you find a huge car park with lots of space even when the restaurant is full. Inside the tables are spaced to allow a private conversation if desired.
Menus are updated on a weekly basis to offer fresh seasonal fare.
The Sunday roast menu offers very generous portions of delicious food for a very reasonable price. Service is attentive without being constantly intrusive.

Had the most amazing steak and ale pie at the Ball and Wicket tonight! Asked for cheesy mash as a side and it was delish!
Luke our waiter was fab and made sure we were well looked after.
Will definitely visit again soon.
Had the king prawn special to start and the korean chicken as main. My wife had mushrooms to start and the hunters chicken as a main. The food was very good, prices were fine, especially for the quality of the food.
Was very quiet at lunchtime and the service was really good, with a nice cosy atmosphere.
Have had a couple of family meals here whilst visiting my son. Always a lovely meal with good service. When we visited again on Saturday evening we again had an enjoyable experience. The staff were welcoming and the young waiter, Albert, was particularly impressive with his politeness & professionalism.
Lovely pub. Very nice atmosphere. Food was excellent. My steak was very flavoursome and the peppercorn and brandy sauce was particularly tasty. My daughter was pleased with her pizza and chips and my wife was more than happy with her fish and chips. One of the nicest pub meals I’ve had for a while.
Lovely place to eat felt welcome from the start service was amazing Hannah welcomed us and made sure we had everything we needed and amy was always around to assist us. Hats of to crina for making a fantastic dessert. Overall a lovely lunch out will definitely be coming back.
Great place for a Sunday lunch. The pub is decorated really nicely and service was very efficient. Would have appreciated a few more roast potatoes as the portion was fairly small but otherwise we had a great visit.
First time here since it reopened / rebranded and it was such a lovely experience!
Staff were warm & welcoming, the atmosphere was cozy, and the food was delicious. Great choice of food and it was well presented on the plate too!
My only gripe would be getting too many chips and now I can't move because I ate them all!
I was pleasantly surprised by the bill too as it was definitely well worth the money!
Stumbled on this pub on the way home from the beach. The huge car park and beautiful building caught our eye from the road. Service was amazing. The staff couldn't be more helpful or friendly. I had a vegan burger which was the best I've ever tasted. Childrens menu was great. My partner had a steak and he did not enjoy it as much as everything else. He said it lacked flavour and was not a good cut. Everything else was spot on. I will be going again!
Been here a couple of times now and it's been great each time. Food, pub and staff are well presented, good choices on the menu, reasonable prices and a good choice of drinks. We'll definitely come back.
Nice food and good service.
I had a slow cooked beef cheak from the Christmas menu and it was delicious and as a dessert i decided have sticky toffee pudding and it was good but could have been warmer.
My partner had a burger and she enjoyed it, apart from the stuffing which was a bit hard but all in all no complaints was all great food .
Great pub to enjoy with the family with a good atmosphere.
Definatly will come back.
Lovely pub that has recently been redecorated. Brilliant outdoor space but nothing for children. This place used to have an outdoor playground and internal ball pit. These have now been removed.
A nice country pub in a country setting. We sat outside for lunch. Food was good quality. We were just visiting the area for the day but if we were here again would definitely revisit.
