We have just held my husbands 40th Birthday at The Windmill. The landlady Gill and her staff could not do enough for us! We booked the barn and had a marquee out on the decking.
Gill even reserved the putting golf Green for our family.
The sun was out and we had a golf tournament followed buy a full roast chicken with all the trimmings. £25.00 for 4 people was excellent value and the food was amazing!!! The best of home cooking.
In addition we had a great selection of puddings and Gill made my husbands favourite and a serving all for himself.
Great venue, great food, value for money and excellent service!
So good I'm booking again with them again in the summer.
We were catered for our every need.
Thanks
We held a 'baby shower' at the Windmill today in the function room. Jill and the team were really helpful when we were booking and making the arrangements. The food was delicious and plentiful and the service was great. There is plenty of space, a beautiful pub garden and the place has a really friendly welcoming feel. Would highly recommend .
A fabulous EnglishTraditional & Vintage pub tucked in lovely surroundings. A great and warm welcome from staff and locals. Loved it!!
Plus...delicious home-made food...so what else??
Exceptionally brilliant little pub. Great food all locally resourced and best cheesy chips! Great bar staff and made to feel very welcome each time we visit on our walks. So good sometimes a taxi home is involved! Very dog friendly (even do a dog bowl roast) Child friendly too.
Very nice food massive garden well worth a visit. We will be going back again.
Popped in for a bite to eat, the food was really good, hubby said they had a great selection of ales and the staff were really friendly. Will be going back!
Superb Sunday platter (roast chicken dinner for 4 for £25). Wanted a family roast without having to cook and wash up on my birthday. It surpassed all expectations. And because we have two little ones who don't eat much meat I now have chicken sandwiches for my packed lunch tomorrow! Homely child friendly service too.
Excellent service and the Sunday Lunch is fantastic. The best gravy I have ever tasted. I recommend it to one and all and it is ideal for dog walkers who have just been for a truck around the local military training area.
We hosted a gin evening last night for a group of friends, we also pre booked supper. What an amazing evening, the food (steak and ale pie with mash and seasonal veg and fish, chips and mushy peas) was first class and we had 13 very clean plates! The gin selection was varied and interesting and lots of knowledge about them shared with us. I would recommend this type of evening as a great get together with friends and family in a cozy and relaxed environment. Well done to Jill and the team! We will definitely be back! Xx
Excellent Sunday roast. The best gravy ever and plenty of it. They need to make the serving clearer as when you haven't been before, and there's a group of you, the platters are a bit confusing. Just a quick 3 second explanation would have been perfect. There's not a massive car park so share lifts if you can. Will definitely visit again. Certainly worthy of 5 ⭐️
Fabulous village pub - definitely worth a visit. Very child and dog friendly. Huge garden, golf, darts, guests beers ! Ticks all the boxes of a real pub for me. Food good too, you will need to book on a Sunday to get a table.
The Windmill is a proper pub! Lovingly family run and a true local with a great selection of beers, gins and excellent home cooked food. And then there's the setting, truly magical
Great pub with really lovely staff. Cheesy chips are great
Wonderful Sunday lunch at the Windmill. The food was delicious and the service excellent.
Thank you Minna & Jon for treating us! X
Great friendly little village pub with good honest food and old fashioned pub feel. Dog and child friendly and only a lovely 20 min walk from Crookham Park. See you again soon!
Great Pub lovely people will be back again
Gorgeous pub bursting with character and charm. Huge garden area, plus nice looking function room. All in all, it's exactly what you would want from a country pub. Nice decor, clean, good service and varied drinks and food selection.
The barn is a great private area for a function. Julia is a lovely and easy person to work with in organising what you need. Our guests loved the food the portion size and quality for the price. Even better if you're event is in summer as the outdoor area expands your space and massive garden area for children to run around. The barn has a TV screen and speaker for connect to easily with cable and Bluetooth. Definitely recommend and can manage a group of 20 in this space, if you go over it may be a bit tight given the space if you don't use the outside. Especially with busy kids running around
Nice pub. Nice people. The kitchen was out. If your reading this in the future I'd hope its up and running by now. They do events, got a massive marquee round the back. People kept calling yo book so it must be the go to place in the area. A nice watering hole for your travels too.
Fantastic pub in a lovely area. Brilliant, polite staff and the food is amazing.
Fortnightly quizzes, hosted by Spike, and he's brilliant. Spike includes everyone in many ways and is phenomenal at his job.
My wife and I had lunch here yesterday in this lovely peaceful setting. Julia cooked and served up a very tasty lunch. We would definitely come again.
dropped in last night for pint. ended up doing a brilliant pub quiz. quizmaster spike was top notch. pub was heaving and great atmosphere. i didnt eat as had already eaten but food coming out looked great. will be returning for sure . great job guys so noce to see village pub still thriving 👍🏻👍🏻
Very cute little countryside traditional pub, with a big garden for the summer or dogs to run around (inside dog friendly too). Great food and drinks. Service is spot on and staff are always lovely and friendly. Recommend coming here for a beer and grub or watch sports too!
Highly recommend the Windmill. Great atmosphere, good choice of ales on tap and very tasty food. Amazingly tasty roasty just like home made!! Sport on the TV and dog friendly too. Already looking forward to comming back 👍👌
Lovely, cosy village pub. Staff are all very friendly, welcoming and attentive. We had Sunday lunch, which was of high quality, very tasty and lots of it, too. Can 100% recommend the Windmill and would advise to book a table in advance.
Excellent Sunday roast. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Love this pub!
I always love visiting the Windmill, great pub, fantastic garden space, dogs welcome. All the staff are always cheerful and friendly. Mother's day lunch was lovely, little bouquet of daffodils on the tables for mum to take away. Unlike a lot of places in the area, they didn't hike the prices up too much for a special day. Cheesecake was 😋 we often go here when we walk the dog in the nearby park.
While bike packing the King Alfred Way I stopped by The Windmill. What a fabulous friendly and cosy pub! Although there was no food being served on the evening I arrived, Dean, very kindly made me a full plate of hot chips. To top it all he offered me a camping spot in the pub garden to save me having to wild camp and let me charge my bike computer and devices - all for price of a beer! What a welcome! Highly recommended for bike packers and non- bike packers a like. Thank you Dean 🙏
Very nice pub staff very polite food was fantastic i love the fish and chips andthe pizza was grate good price range all round beer prces very reasonable
Great traditional pub with good ales, wine and other options. The food was excellent.
Excellent local pub, great staff and traditional village Pub atmosphere.
Lovely, quiet little 'country' pub with a huge garden. We ended up stumbling across this place after spending the morning at the nearby Frensham Pond.
Not much on tap right now in the way of beers, but this is likely more a result of covid than anything else. If you're a s fan of a g&t there's an expansive selection.
Very friendly staff, who all strictly adhered to and upheld social distancing rules. Had a burger for lunch which was tasty and had a home made type feel about it, with huge, chunky skin on fries.
Don't come expecting the gastro pub stylings of a modern pub, and enjoy the rustic vibe.
Hidden Gem, visited yesterday, Fantastic day, soul funk disco in garden for charity, friendly people, made very welcome, boogie the afternoon and evening, DJ fab, food brilliant, please more events like this more, more more.👍👍👍
Sunday Lunch.
Visited for Sunday Lunch with friends and family.
The staff were very welcoming and the food was very tasty, although the plates (and the portions) could have been a bit bigger.
My wife always judges her food on the standard of the desserts. She was very happy, with a great choice of traditional offerings of Sticky Toffee Pudding, Chocolate Fudge Cake to name but two.
Will go again.
