An enjoyable place to eat, service was effective and we were made to feel welcomed. The food was really high quality and extremely tasty. Prices were as expected for the location. If in the area do book ahead as popular.
Yes, yes , yes ! . Great location for Sunday lunch. You will not be disappointed. A warm and friendly greeting was followed up by first-class service, fantastic food, and a chilled family atmosphere. Everything is thought of down to the delivery of the cutlery ( nice touch ) . Well stocked beer and wine cellar with plenty of variety. Varied choice on the menu to cater to all dietary requirements 😋 . We were celebrating 🍾 an 86th birthday in the family at the Woodman Inn . We were well looked after and look forward to going back for another superb meal experience. Complements to all staff involved. 😉

I visited the Woodman Inn on Sunday 3 April 2022 for Sunday lunch. I was with one other person. This was my first visit. I used Google Maps to decide where to eat and to navigate to the pub, which was easy. The pub has a well deserved high Google rating.
I parked in the pub car park - parking was easy.
The pub comprises of a number of smaller dining areas with plenty of tables with full table service.
The team were very friendly and welcoming and I had no issues - we got everything we expected in good time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were accommodated at very short notice without any trouble.
I enjoyed a cashew and cranberry nut roast for my main course and a warm chocolate and salted caramel fudge cake for dessert. The food arrived hot, was well presented and tasted really good. There was a good selection of food and I found something that appealed to me easily. The food was good value for money, I paid around £29 for two courses and drinks.
Overall I really enjoyed my visit and would definitely recommend a visit.
Brilliant kitchen!
We arrived on steak night and had a perfectly prepared T-bone. Very friendly service and a perfect ambiance of local pub with just the right dog-to-man ratio.
The puddings were hard to choose from since they were all very appetising. In the end I went with the syrup sponge pudding with custard. Mushy, sweet, hot and with vanilla custard to top it off.
Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
Lovely pub with a very pleasant and accommodating atmosphere, very welcoming staff, helpful and nice, they were very understandable making us eat a little after hours, the food was very good excellent cooking and good quality products. For sure we will be back

I booked a Saturday lunch for 14 of us (8 adults and 6 kids aged 7-16) at less than a week's notice. As we were a large group we were asked to pre-order our starters and main courses by the day before (by email), which made the experience much smoother for us as well as the staff - the food arrived promptly and we didn't have to interrupt our chat with food decisions. All the food was excellent, freshly made and well worth the price, and service was welcoming and prompt without feeling rushed. We had a corner of the pub to ourselves with some extra seating so the kids could play games and chat once they'd finished eating. A number of us had desserts / coffee too which were similarly delicious. It has a lovely old country pub feel and everything including the loos was scrupulously clean. I really couldn't fault it in any way - it was a wonderful lunch and the whole experience from booking to departing was pleasant and easy. It's not always simple to manage this with such a large group, so thanks to everyone at the Woodman!
We booked dinner at the Woodman Inn on Saturday night on a whim and I am so glad we did. I don’t normally write reviews but I felt I had to call out this gem of a pub. The staff were really friendly and accommodating right from the get go of us calling to see if they could seat us last minute. The food was brilliant, one of the nicest steak and chips with peppercorn I’ve had. Atmosphere was great, the pub was also really cosy with a lot of character (right down to the little animal salt and pepper shakers on each table). We would all absolutely come back and recommend to anyone looking for some good food.

Love this place. Small menu, therefore freshly prepared food. Limited wine list but something for everyone. Friendly welcoming service. Oldy woldy style. I would recommend.
The Woodman Inn is one of my favourite places to visit. The food is always outstanding and Francois is a friendly yet professional host.

We stopped here for a drink whilst out walking. Nice decor and atmosphere but the range of beer available was a bit disappointing, maybe we came on a day where stocks were low?
A great little country pub with French (?) inspired menu. From outside looks unassuming but has plenty of cotswold charm and character inside. Lots of pretty flower arrangements around, good sized parking
Stopped here after walking the dog around National Trust site Badbury Forest (only a 10 minute drive away). Wednesday night is pie & mash night and they are amazing. Full menu is also available but the pie & mash is unreal. Wonderful pub, with friendly and attentive staff, good selection of drinks and overall an excellent experience. Will always stop by when in the area!
