We had an excellent meal, beer was on form, service spot on, car park not a problem, no codes to punch in like the last time we visited, pay and display fee refunded when food was purchased, a lot easier to leave as we were on a motorcycle. Thanks for a lovely time.

The staff are very helpful, attentive and lovely The bedroom was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. the bathroom was also very clean. I had room23. Had a fan and hairdryer also. So no complaints I will add Wich is no fault of the hotel but parents of children that run up and down outside the door ,shouting screaming and slamming doors and even swearing loudly . Again, no reflection on hotel just rude children left to run wild The bar staff amazing .a really nice Spanish chap . And the breakfast ladies on the 23/10 were friendly ,happy and pleasant . The breakfast was delicious

A quaint hotel that is showing its age and looking a little tired in places. However, the excellent service in the hotel itself, the bar and the restaurant more than compensate for this. Lovely little hotel with exceptional staff. The menu is excellent too.

Can't rate the rooms. But the pub is very nice. The food was amazing. Very elaborate and at the prices a Greene King pub tends to be. Pricey. But worth it. The pub is a little tight for space, with a claustrophobic lay out. It can be awkward to navigate when it gets busy.

Stayed three nights on a B&B basis. Very good start with the friendliest receptionist helping me with parking arrangements, especially as we had arrived early. Room was spotless. Bathroom shower was as close to a power shower as you could get and bath deep and swift filling. Breakfast, you need to taste to appreciate. The " Eggs Benidict" by another name a triumph. Parking is ample and free in a town where parking is at a premium. No charging to an account however. Pay as you go to be advised We will be back when in Fareham and The Red Lion is now our hotel of choice.

I can't comment on rooms, because I didn't stay. Good location, easy to find (always a bonus). Parking in their private car park, you pay on site and get the cost refunded from meals. Shared 2 Sharing platters between 4 for lunch, lovely with whole cambert. Service good.

Being a pub my expectations weren't high going in, I couldn't of been more wrong, upon entering the reception area I was greated by a lovely lady who was very helpful in getting me booked in for the night, went to the bar for light refreshments and was served a portion of beautifully cooked chip, the room was very clean, modern and spacious, a massive soft bed that felt like you were on a cloud, the bathroom was clean tidy and well maintained, breakfast this morning was to die for properly cooked and beautifully presented. All staff were very helpful and cheerful, I would definitely stay here again

What a total find!! We had the absolute pleasure of having an overnight stay here en route from darkest Somerset to West Kent, and can recommend it 100%, the room we had was a wee bit dated but very clean & comfortable and more than offset by the quality of the food offered here and the friendliness of the staff, both are highly commendable. Won't hesitate to use this lovely hostelry as a base of operations again in the future.

Great hotel but breakfast took 40 mins so maybe heads up if you're in a rush to go somewhere. Lucky i wasn't in a rush and breakfast tasted good.

Pit stop on a work trip, landed 5 mins before the kitchen closed and they still managed to knock me up a great chicken and ham pie before clocking off. Very typical Green King, friendly staff, best selling beers and homely food. Free parking if you’re staying overnight and very comfortable rooms. Centre of town location if you fancy a walk up the high street. Plenty of coffee shops if you don’t fancy the hotel breakfast. The bathroom is ready for a little modernisation, maybe a tv where you can mirror your device so that you can steam Netflix or maybe even a Nespresso coffee machine would benefit the rooms. These are present in lots of other hotels at my room rate although I never use them so I’m not missing them. There’s a kettle, some biscuits and really lovely cotton sheets. Great location for Southampton and Portsmouth. I’d book again.

We had lunch here. We've been before and it's been fine for a Sunday lunch. I paid a lot of money for a fillet steak which was great but the chips really let it down. They look and taste like bog standard frozen chips, not even good ones. Considering the rest of the menu is quite fancy I'm surprised that they use such low quality chips.
