Me and my husband live about an hour and a half drive from the blackcock inn, we were child free for the first time in a while, so we decided to drive towards kielder, we looked online and decided to book in for a meal, we had never been before, it was a lovely drive out, when we arrived, it was a lovely welcome from very friendly staff in an old style country pub, we were seated with drinks, then our meal, I'd honestly say its the best meal we have had in a long time, very big portions aswell.
The staff were perfect, we can't wait to go back, can't recommend enough. Thank you
Went up the bothy and stopped in when we dropped off the car, Great little friendly pub, the family that ran it were great and the place had a wonderful atmosphere, next morning we came in for the breakfast which was both top quality and quantity.
Great pub,
Great food
Great staff
Great location
Definitely be back.
Fantastic Sunday lunch, especially since it catered for me being gluten and diary free too which was a bonus! Lovely family which run it and a lovely atmosphere - well worth a visit!
Fantastic evening out, it's been a 8 1/2 years since we've been in our local pub! So fortunate that it's been giving the love and attention that's been lacked over the years, the new owners have really made a huge difference. The atmosphere is happy, friendly, both old and new faces reunited in a cosy pub. Food was amazing, fabulous family pub. Highly recommended for a good night out...
Great pub and great food. Friendly and great hospitality, definitely on my must go back list.
Excellent food and service. Would recommend the Falstone burger! Great menu too!
Fabulous food, lovely staff, pub is also dog friendly. A great find for us
Amazing food and very friendly staff, highly recommend xx
Really lovely pub, exceptionally friendly staff and great food. Dog friendly too!
fantastic drop in pub now, even if you don't go for one of their lovely Sunday Lunches drop in for a pre lunch drink, or a quickie before supper during the week, lets get the craic even better than it is now, support Mick Anne and Katie and make another fantastic pub in the valley
Great food and friendly bunch. Nice fire. Perfect for a pre stargazing meal and pint before heading up to Kielder Observatory!
Super place to stay, great food and hospitality, comfy beds warm and welcoming atmosphere. Great base for walking/biking round Kielder and for visiting the Observatory.
Great staff, even greater food, bloody lovely. Highly recommend Homemade Beef stew and yorki puds mmm mmm hmmmm delish
Didn't stay overnight. just popped in for Sunday lunch. Even though we arrived 30 mins early staff were very accommodating. Meal was amazing good portions. Plenty of gravy and staff very attentive. Would highly recommend
Great location for walking around Kielder water and forest. Mick and his daughter are so friendly and accommodating. Food is good and the pub is dog friendly. Stayed in the b&b next door and would highly recommend! A quiet and beautiful part of the country which we will definitely explore again soon.
Great food, burgers and the beef stew (with 2 Yorkshire's) were awesome. Good beer - Eclipse pale ale from a local brewery was worth the visit alone. Great service rounded it off.
Amazing Sunday Lunch. Dog friendly with helpful staff. The best Sunday Lunch I have had in years, if not ever.
Absolutely loved this place. Mick and his daughter run a really professional operation with pleasant rooms, great food and a great atmosphere. Breakfast was superb just wish I’d taken a photo to show you all but it did last that long. Well worth a visit.
On a red hot sunny afternoon in June, this hostelry was the most pleasant of discoveries.
Local brewery pale ale and freshly cooked homemade platters completed our afternoon of discoveries...and best of all was the welcoming barmaid with a smile, a chat and a service rating at the top of the scale. Could quite happily have stayed for the evening 😊
Katie was serving when we came in with an issue getting into a local cottage we'd booked. She knew the owners & helped us out. Pool table kept the older kids happy while she helped & the locals were very polite & understanding about a loud 2yr old! Great for a good pint after a long walk too. Also one of the kids left a Samsung s22 on the table & when we called in the next day the owner pulled it from behind the bar. This alone tells you all you need to know about the people who frequent the place!
Quite an unusual name mind! 😂 as you can imagine this didn't escape the notice of the 12yr old lad. Anyway, great pub & pint in a beautiful place, what else do you want?
This is a lovely village pub,we've been three times Great food, great service,a warm welcome in a warm comfortable village pub,we would highly recommend this pub to all.
Fantastic from start to finish. Called up to book and very helpful and friendly on the phone. Friendly greeting when we walked in and lady knew drinks stocked and gave us great options. Ordered roast dinners one was gluten free all amazing as the whole Sunday Roast was all gluten free and GF Yorkshire pudding available. Delicious crumble for dessert. Homely atmosphere, friendly great service and good price. Will definitely be back when we visit the north east again. Thank you!
Excellent pit stop in the way passed. Friendly staff and nice country pub in general. Well worth a visit.
