Such a great experience and food! Every dish that came out was better than the last, the view was terrific and we left having had a brilliant evening. The menu may be small, but there’s definitely something for everyone and they accommodate to dietary requirements too.

Food was very tasty and plentiful eg pork belly was crispy and cod with creamed white beans was plentiful. Wine selection was lacking (thank you to the couple that treated us to our bottle, SO kind), cheese board not balanced and no questions asked on dietary requirements for amuse-bouche. Lovely setting and staff were very friendly and very helpful.

At the end of a photo walk around Falmouth we stopped here for coffee and cake. None of us had a meal so, although I have heard good things from family and friends, I cannot personally comment on the food. A very varied tea/coffee order arrived promptly and the host was friendly and very helpful. Everything was spotlessly clean and I do plan to return for a full meal experience.

Went here last night and got the three courses. Absolutely delicious across the board. The beef was incredible as was the hake! The cheese plate was also fantastic. Super cute and cosy place with very friendly staff! The butter you get with the bread was also reallyyyy nice.

Brilliant experience having dinner on a floating boat! Food was brilliant and professionally presented. They gave a complimentary mussel with miso, apple and vinegarette which was delicious. For mains we had the cod with white bean puree, carrots and leeks, and glazed in sambuca. For dessert we had the white chocolate dome with blacurrant, and the Tonka bean chawanmushi. Elegant and tasty food which we very muc enjoyed!

Amazing food! Visited Falmouth for one day and night & was told a new restaurant had opened. SO pleased we decided to give it a go. Food was incredible and so beautifully presented. Excellent flavours for both vegetarians and meat/fish eaters alike. Goats cheese BonBons were gorgeous. Really high-level cooking. Would definitely recommend and revisit. p.s even their Chamomile tea at the end of the meal was delicious!

Devine dining, but the arrival could have been better. Our online reservation was for 5:45pm but all outside signage said open from 6pm and we weren’t sure whether to push through the gate onto the gangway or wait for the staff to come and open up. Anyway, we pushed through and were glad we did - the food and service was excellent!

Absolutely delicious food and lovely atmosphere. La Péniche is located on a stationary barge, in Falmouth harbour. It was a very atmospheric location for dinner, as the warm lights on board makes it feel like a cocoon, removed from the rest of the town. We felt very warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The menu is very well chosen, with a handful of options for each course and included bread and an amuse bouche before the meal. We had the crumbled rice cube to start, the chicken and roast stone bass for mains and the tonka bean Panna cotta for dessert. The food was beautifully cooked and presented, and well paced: we never felt hurried, but neither as if we had to wait for the next course. The meal was very reasonably priced, with £30 for 2 courses and £40 for 3. We had a really lovely evening and can really recommend La Péniche for delicious food and lovely, warm atmosphere.

We were the winners of a voucher with dinner for 2 - took and extra guest whom we paid for and what a brilliant evening we had! Fine french dining experience, even on one of the busiest nights in the year - the closing of Falmouth Week. It was a long and lazy evening with staff giving you time to enjoy - not giving you the feeling of being rushed at all. The food was truly original, something that is quite difficult to find in Falmouth. And it's my home town and I have eaten in quite some restaurants around Falmouth. And the looks of the food - especially the desert we had - too bad I didn't take a picture! Lovely coffee choices including decaf and great service too. Highly recommended
