We wanted to have fish and chips last night for dinner as we just arrived on holiday and couldn't be bothered to cook. We found MR.Chips and thought we would give it a go. It was VERY fast service and very yummy! You can't go wrong with mr.chips!!!
I can’t recommend this fish & chip shop enough. Easy wheelchair access, plenty of tables outside.
The food is cooked to order so was piping hot & absolutely delicious. I was told that the plaice was on the small side so received two pieces which was an added bonus.
The staff are very friendly which was lovely.

Fish and chips were very good. Only 4 stars due to dirty tables and lack of cutlery when eating in.
We were staying in the area and popped in to get a Saturday night takeaway. Scouted out a few fish and chip shops in the town but plumped for this one as looked very clean and organised and was very popular with locals! Lovely large piece of fish and good-sized portion of chips, not too greasy, just crisp enough 👍

Plenty of parking at mr chips, wheelchair friendly access and eating area inside and out. A small shop and very clean, and not cluttered. I was suprised to be told when i went up to order my cod, chips and fishcake. That they only accept cash, no card payments.
I don't really know any shops now days that still do this?.
The food is cooked to order. Depending on how busy the shop is, my food took about 10 minutes for it to be ready. So not bad. But at that time it was quiet. I was the only one there.
The order was put in a paper bag.
The food was well warped and very hot even after 20 minutes. I hope the picture does it justice. Because it was very nice, the batter on the fish was light and crisp. The fish was well cooked, the chips were crispy on the out side and fluffy inside. The fish cake for me was ever so slightly over cooked but im picky.
Over all very lovely food and great service.
The workers are very polite and helpful.
The price is spot on, the quality of the food is good.
My only criticism is the fishcake was slightly over done and that i was very lucky that day i had cash in my wallet.
It's time to have a card payment device. Every shop has one. Everybody pays with card. Its quicker and easier.
If i didn't have cash, they would of lost a customer. I wonder how many mr chips has lost this way?

Been coming here for many years now, still the best takeaway around. Our kids have grown up visiting Mr Chips whilst on holiday, and now they have their own kids they’ll be visiting too!
I come all the way from Norwich just for Mr Chips’ chips! Food is always ready within minutes, sometimes seconds. Mr Chips himself always greets with “What would you like, young man?”. There is a small covered seating area outside with benches perfect for a sunny day and the shop is actually situated directly next to a public car park.
Fantastic fish n chips here. The staff are friendly and even remember you after a year of not visiting. Amazing.

Huge selection of other items, if fish is not a favourite, try the large battered sausage, very tasty.

We are on holiday a few miles from Fakenham, felt lazy so decided on fish and chips. Google maps showed us a few options but the reviews guided us to Mr Chips.This genuinely is a 5 star fish and chip shop. There’s even an outdoor undercover eating area too. The fish was large, pure white, well cooked and tasted wonderful. Fantastic chips and a large portion. Quality mushy peas too. Great staff, happy helpful and informative. Thank you for our fab food.
Huge pieces of fish. The fish wasn't anything great but tasted fine. The chips were good but I wanted the really dark colour fries and thinner.

Excellent Fish and chips were okay too. Very friendly and helpful staff. Tables outside were free to be used but could have done with a wipe clean. There was access to cleaning equipment. Staff were far too busy producing delicious food. Free parking after 6pm for the many happy customers who "return every week." Very large portions. We had 2 dinners from our one portion.
We were visiting a relative who wished a fish and chip meal. We had seen this place as we drove through the town so returned. Clean, welcoming with good food at a fair price. We alaays ask would we recommend or return. The answer to both is yes.
