First time yo this Toby and loved it. Usual great food, lovely atmosphere and polite staff
No complaints! Food was piping hot and fresh, nothing tasted like it had been sitting there for a while. The queue for the carvery was long in length but short waiting time. Love Toby as I don't like going to restaurants where they pile all your food on and it actually puts me off. We coming for Xmas Day dinner and I asked the waitress how much it was, even though I'd already booked. She went to find out and the manager, I presume, came over and explained it all, saying how we can pay it in installments, as she knows people are struggling, which I thought was great and helpful idea! After she sat and went through it all she checked on the system we were definitely booked in! Which we were! Such a helpful lady. Can't think of anywhere/anything that needs improving! Never had a bad meal/experience.
Visited Toby carvery on the way back from a holiday at haven holiday park. I have to admit this is the best carvery I've ever had!! and was well needed after a hectic week. All the food was fresh and tasted delicious, and the chef was polite and proud of his food. The front of house staff was also very polite and welcoming and made sure all our needs were met. Great service and great food. I would upload a photo, but I ate the food fast as it was just too damn good.
The online booking system is quick and easy to use and we were seated immediately on our arrival.
The choice of meats on the carvery was very good, although it would be nice to have roast lamb occasionally. There was a good selection of vegetables and I particularly liked the roast potatoes cooked in beef dripping and the onions in gravy. The addition of red cabbage with apples would also be welcomed.
I had the pork and beef, both of which were cooked perfectly and very tender. There was a good selection of condiments available.
The Yorkshire puddings were a little too hard and crispy for my taste,
We had water with our meal, some ice would have been nice.
Our server was attentive and friendly.
I was stuffed! Thankfully I decided on a standard plate as I couldn't of eaten a large one. Yorkshire puddings were amazing. If only mine turned out like those and not look as flat as pancakes. All the food was piping hot. Service was with a smile. The place does look run down from the outside and could do with a makeover but inside was lovely. Lots of seating outside in the garden too for those limited hot sunny days us British seem to be having lately.
It was good. Nice efficient service, we both got seated with drinks and food within minutes. Food was good too. Staff were nice and chatty. Would call again if we didn't live 250 miles away.
Wonderful. No faults at all. Maybe a bit bigger slice of beef.
It was great. We were at table really enjoying our meal but two older ladies on table next to us complained about EVERYTHING even down to the cider not being as sparkly as their supermarket cider - it was very funny. The staff handled these two troublemakers professionally calmly and were very polite and did everything to placate the ladies. Fabulous staff. They’re a positive credit to Toby carvery. Carol the waitress served us and was so helpful and checked we were okay and a big smile. A real credit/asset to Lympstone Toby Carvery.
Booked table at short notice. Greeted promptly on arrival. Drinks order taken quick by our server Zac who was friendly and very efficient. Very apologetic as ice machine broken. Food selection was good with 4 meats. Vegetables piping hot and good variety.
We had a lovely experience here recently. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us and our baby.
Food was really good 👍 highly recommend.

Been to lots of Tobys, this is the same as the rest, honest food at reasonable prices.
The only fault here was they dont of late, have lamb available at the carvery. Today, they did have, unfortunately, it was rather tough, so perhaps it was mutton !
I didn't catch their names but one of the female managers and a gentleman server were absolutely brilliant with myself, partner and three daughters this evening. So friendly, interactive and accommodating. THE best Toby Carvery experience we've ever had and to top it off one of the best birthday meals too. Cannot recommend enough. Thank you so much 😊
I had a breakfast buffet there and it was a wonderful experience. The food was more than enough and I had so much to eat for a very affordable fee. Although I went in very early as they had barely only opened hence there were no customers in sight but I still enjoyed eating all by myself.
The staff were very helpful, especially with my wife who is gluten intolerant. My wife was able to select a carvery with complete confidence - thank you. The food was brilliant also!
