This place is a little gem- me and my husband had our anniversary meal here last night and we thoroughly enjoyed the few hours here! Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff- polite service from all and soooo friendly and welcoming! This was our first time visiting but will not be our last! The food was quick, hot and tasty with a nice selection on the menu! This place has a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere about it too and to make it extra special we thoroughly enjoyed a special anniversary pudding which really made our night! I will personally be recommending this place to everyone!

After being a bit grumpy I was watching for anything to complain about all because a drink was missed off our order.
I gave a 3 star review after chucking my toys out of my pram and on reflection this pub has great food,great atmosphere and lovely staff.
Thankyou to all the staff who worked very hard on such a busy night and I wish to publicly apologise for my original 3star review and wouldn't hesitate to go back again 5 stars all the way.
A fabulous meal this evening! We had a table booked for 7pm but arrived a little early so had some drinks in the bar, were asked if we’d like to order our food whilst having our drinks. Then we were taken through to our table in the restaurant and our meals were served in minutes. The rump steak was the best steak I’ve had in a very long time and I’m so fussy with steak! Cooked to perfection! My husband had the sausage and mash which he said was also superb, though I didn’t get to try it as he ate it so fast! I did have my eye on having a cheese board to finish but literally did not have any room! Excellent meal and as always fantastic service! See you again soon!
Stopped off during our walk along the Avocet Line for a spot of lunch. The staff were very friendly welcoming and efficient, food was delicious, the decor was very impressive and lots of interesting memorabilia to view.
Highly recommended and will definitely return if we are in the area again!
We went for Christmas Day lunch yesterday and it was all lovely. The restaurant was decked out with tasteful Christmas decorations with log burners lit.
The food and drink were superb and the staff friendly and attentive. All in all a festive treat!
Lovely meal! Food was delicious (they had sea bream on the specials, which was absolutely amazing), portions were large, and service was attentive as well as informal. Good kids menu too! Went on a Monday evening so was rather quiet, but we all enjoyed great food and a lovely evening.
Nicest roast dinner we’ve had for a while, and we will travel far for a decent roast dinner, tiny little bit pricey I’d say, but appreciate that everything has gone up in price generally

On a cycle ride and came across this pub. Originally stopped for a drink but seeing the menu decided to have a light lunch. We had the trout and crayfish cocktail which was absolutely delicious plus chunky chips. Sat outside because the weather was too good to sit inside, therefore didn't experience the atmosphere. I would recommend.
Good place for an early evening meeting. If you like your burgers deep fried and chunky chips too then ideal. The menu looked good, beer quality was good and the service was prompt and friendly.
Excellent stout 👍, The 2 log burners don't half push out the heat, we sat outside 🤣

Outstanding service and amazing food! Tried this place first time tonight and I don't have enough words to define how plesently impressed I was! Food was so delicious, had bream and vegetables and a yummy cheesecake. The nice lady who served me and my partner made sure that my dish was customized to meet my needs, the kind of service and attention that makes me come back for sure!
Great restaurant. Lovely man on bar and serving. Food delicious. Very busy. Parking easy.
A fairly cosy pub seemingly in the middle of nowhere until you attend a wedding function and have your disco turned down and all the windows shut and are constantly being told to quieten down at 10pm. 🙄 The food was ok mass catering is hard but it was a small wedding and they seemed to manage it ok. The bar staff lacked knowledge, there were long waits for food and drink but not the worst I've had. The atmosphere at the wedding was great (prior to being told to sush). When we could flow in and out it was quite lovely but once we were all shut it it wasn't at all pleasant truthfully. The food took three table leaving all the guests (maybe like 40+ only three tables to sit at 8 to a table so lots of people standing and left little room for dance floor. I think if they can't really cater for weddings they shouldn't advertise as doing so.
Nice little pub. More of a restaurant but we just sat and had a pint at the bar end which was lovely.
We only stopped for a single drink on our walk to Topsham from Exmouth, but we were served quickly, the place was clean and welcoming, and the menu looked interesting.
We will return to try dinner soon 😋
The question is how was the Puffin Billy Inn? Well let me tell you it was excellent 👌
I didn't eat here but could see from the amount of people eating that the quality and range of food was to high standards
The staff were accommodating and best of all really friendly. I like a good ale and a fresh barrel of Proper job was just ready and a damn fine pint it was too

What a wonderful pub. I visited with my elderly mum. I think the chap that looked after us was called Jonny. He was so kind and attentive and made us feel so welcome. The food was fantastic and so was the beer. And a fabulous sunset over the estuary afterwards!

We’ve (8 of us) just enjoyed a lovely lunch, everyone enjoyed the food and the staff were superb.
I had the Dartmoor burger which was very flavoursome and came with a good portion of tasty chips. I also enjoyed the brownie which was amazing :)
This is the second time I’ve been and will definitely be going back.
