Unbelievable spontaneous experience we had here last week.
We knew from reviews it could be a very special meal, but approaching from the outside to start with was totally underwhelming, we didn't even know we had the right place!
Fortunately the evening we had inside couldn't have been more contrasting.
The food was ABSOLUTELY divine. I'm not sure I have enough words to convey just how good it was, but certainly the most memorable meal we've had for many years!
Between us we had the scallops and black pudding (just EXQUISITE, we've never had scallops that texture before, just fell apart in our mouths), chappa bread, lobster mac & cheese, cockle & mussel aranchini, the john dory fish, buttery samphire, truffle parmesan chips and a bottle of wonderfully chilled rosé.
It helped we were the only ones in the restaurant (we arrived almost as it opened I think) but the services was outstanding, so friendly and attentive and very importantly, not judgemental so we felt totally at home (even when we ordered some bread to mop the chicken sauce up with that was leftover from our scallops & black pudding starter 😆).
All in all it came to £90 which we felt was amazing value given the experience we'd had. Thank you ❤
I'd read good things about Barbeque Thirteen at the Manor Hotel, so four of us went for a late Sunday lunch. Every box was ticked, great decor, good service, great menu, reasonably priced and all the food was amazing. I'll definitely be back, couldn't fault it.
Brand new restaurant, attended the opening night and had an incredible meal that had a bit of everything! The staff were helpful and well trained, a very good addition to the Exmouth offering

A real hidden gem of a restaurant! Went for an opening showcase taster menu and couldn't recommend the menu highly enough. We'd had great service with a lovely wine pairing and would thoroughly recommend anyone to book a table, you won't be disappointed!
p.s. The beetroot panna cotta is unbelievable
A small, intimate restaurant with great food and friendly staff. I couldn’t recommend it more highly for fish lovers (steak also on the menu if fish isn’t your thing).
Double celebration this week and we wanted to take our 10 year old son to a good seafood restaurant while we're on holiday.
How was it?
Outstanding. Great experience, stunning food and wonderful memories made.
We're fairly well versed in fish and seafood, but it was great to have it truly fresh and prepped and cooked by a professional (rather than me 😅).
The oysters were so good and beautifully fresh that our boy persuaded us to get more!
My personal favourite were the Exmouth shrimp scampi in a Malaysian sauce. Never had such tender shrimps and the sauce was exceptional.
On top of all of this we loved the service, highly attentive and the lovely lady took the time to talk through our options so we could make truly informed choices.
She was also empathic and understanding and made me feel comfortable enough to ask for guidance on how best to tackle our John Dory, so this was a great addition, to learn some skills along the way.
Wine choice and music great too 😌 👌
We WILL be back
Thank you.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff and one of the best dinners I've had in a very long time. I would absolutely recommend that anybody who enjoys seafood try this restaurant. I will definitely be revisiting this place, I loved it!
Fabulous food with quality ingredients served very efficiently and with courtesy in a relaxed environment. Super menu specialising in fresh fish and all dishes considering all tastes and appetites. Music volume impacted on conversation at the table and hearing the explanation from the waiter.
Literally cannot fault this place! Great atmosphere, lovely staff, tremendous menu, beautifully cooked food. The lunch set menu was an absolute bargain and possibly as nice piece of sea bass as I have ever had. Will definitely be back thank you!
Wonderful atmosphere. If you get live music you're lucky but the playlist is amazing. Food is Michelin- perfect. Especially the market fish on the barbecue, which is delicious. If you are on the coastal path, if you are in Exmouth for a visit, I would look nowhere else. The owner is delightful and makes you feel like a local. For the experience and the quality, it's a winner. If you don't come you'll regret it....
