Serlo's - Exeter - Photo album

This building is a piece of Art work. The large scales of the building and small intricate designs made in a time with no tool like we have are incredible. Exeter is so lucky to have this fabulous building. They have a great little gift shop and you do have to pay to get in but it’s soo worth it.
An ancient and beautiful cathedral in the heart of the historic city of Exeter. It's not as large as some of the cathedrals I have visited, but I found it every bit as impressive, from the great Norman towers and well-preserved medieval statues on the exterior of the building to the magnificent rib
Beautiful cathedral. Not as large as some of the other cathedrals. Currently undergoing renovation therefore some parts are closed to the public. Entrance Adult £7.50.
An absolute gem of a cathedral which has a very holistic and calming feeling inside. Excellent architecture which is awe inspiring when you consider the work and effort that went into it. It was great to be able to light a candle and spend quiet time in prayer and reflection. My visit was especially
Visited Exeter Cathedral first thing on a Saturday morning. The cathedral was almost empty and got to walk around on my own. Was haunting in its beauty and made for some really awe-inspiring moments. Although not the biggest cathedral, it is beautiful and really inspiring in its proportions. The car
For those who love architecture and history, a great place to visit, entry by donation, so please donate to up keep the places of history. Toilets are everywhere, good parking available. Renovations is going on inside and outside.
A beautiful cathedral. BUT I think it's wrong to charge people for visiting a church. Many cathedrals ask for a donation - a much better idea. It was expensive too - especially if you are on benefits or an oap.
As everywhere, the National Trust is responsible for the maintenance and care and, as everywhere, this has also been successful here. A beautiful and well-kept cathedral. Is currently under renovation, but you could see a lot. The outdoor area is also well-kept and invites you to stay here.
A wonderful historic experience. Some of the tombs date back many hundreds of years. Worth a visit.
You don't have to be religious to appreciate the magnificence of this amazing cathedral. The facade is covered with beautiful carvings and stone masonry. Fabulous architecture that it is, it gives little clue as to the truly spectacular interior. The sheer size is overwhelming and the fan-vaulted ce
This is a wonderful building and special space. The lady who led the free tour (on the hour) was a mine of information and I cannot recommend the tour highly enough. There is work on that means the altar area is closed at the moment but it barely matters.
The Christmas Market was really busy, so we went into the cathedral to warm up and it was my first time inside, what a spectacular building it is, seeing the architecture that was all around represents the fantastic achievements in those times. It's an absolutely stunning building. Well worth the vi
Exeter Cathedral is a wonderful place to visit. At entry we were given a map of the building which points out the 18 most interesting features of the cathedral, and serves as a good guide, if the timing of one of the guided tours does not fit. One feature I really liked was the carved animal figures
Was nice to keep walking around with 3 hours of the palace and seeing the whole history of war
Lovely experience with really helpful guides, just loved the portable mirrors which allowed ceiling views without the stiff neck.
Fascinating medieval cathedral with the longest continuous medieval stone vaulted ceiling in the world. Lots of interesting tombs and incredible architecture. Well worth a visit.
