Prices for portion sizes are fantastic, the largest out of 3 breakfasts was only £7.95, and it was very good. Friendly chap who served us, would definitely come back.

Lovely old style cafe. Super food, great service, and very good value for money. I would love to live closer so I could visit again soon. Breakfast was top quality and waitress was lovely 😍

Driven past this Cafe hundreds of times but first time we’ve eaten there today. The staff are so friendly and make you feel very welcome. The prices are very reasonable and plenty of condiments available, non of those little sachets that you’d need 10 of each, proper bottles. We went for the Exe Bridge Special fry up for £6.95. What a beast of a breakfast! I don’t think I’ve ever had a larger fry up! A struggle to finish and had to leave 1 slice of fried bread. Well worth a visit.

This is a basic cafe that serves good food....nothing fancy, just good hones food, at a very reasonable price. I had a lambe roast with 5 different veg and roast potatoes, followed by desert. I left feeling totally satisfied 😌 The only downside is that it's not wheelchair accessible, but that's because of the building.

If you are looking for a fine dining experience then this is not for you. More like a truckers café from the 70's! Good honest grub, great portion sizes, friendly staff. Cheap and cheerful - absolutely loved it. Dog friendly

Food here is always excellent. Staff are super friendly and Service is very quick. The staff are able to accommodate all changes to their usual menu to suit any dietary requirements. The location is easy to get to as it is on the corner just south of the river. Saint Thomas station is only 2 minutes walk away. This is probably one of the best cafés in Exeter. Looking forward to my next visit to Exeter and I will be coming back to this place. X

Roy took me for breakfast this time and he really lucked out as this is the cheapest place we've visited in ages! There was no omelette on the menu so I opted for a jacket potato with cheese, tuna mayo and coleslaw. It was tasty, very filling ( there really was a lot, and I have a big appetite)and freshly prepared by the owner couple who were wonderful and friendly. It was speedy but not so much as to make you think it was just dished up. The quality was very high and I couldn't believe how cheap it was. Also just along from here on Cowick St there is a place to park for an hour+ for free. I'll be back!

How lucky are we this side of the river to have such a traditional down to earth, ungentrified cafe still up and running and serving great value, tasty meals with friendly calm service. The menu expands into lunch meals also so everyone is catered for. It is popular so can be busy but be patient and you are rewarded. My first visit after passing many times, but now will be my go-to place. Not for me those high street coffee shops chains, no thanks!
