The Seven Stars is a nice pub and the duty manager was a lovely lady. She was very engaging and catered to all our requirements. The young lady who served at the bar needed to smile more in front of customers, irrespective of how busy she had been. After all, she is "front of house" and that was the only reason the review was not a 5-star review.
The food was lovely and was presented promptly. The chef was very particular about his meals being served at the correct temperature and in prime condition. Well done chef. The waiting staff were excellent and came back to check that everything was okay, which is always a nice touch. The chicken, bacon and avocado salad was outstanding, as was my father-in-law's steak. The Seven Stars visit was a very pleasing experience.
Really lovely staff, we all came in wanting different types of meals, a rump stake medium rare with pepper corn sauce was very good, cooked perfectly. Two sides (Mac and cheese and steamed veg) and a apple crumble pie with custard which was delicious. Everything came out very quickly
Great value food with welcoming staff and a happy atmosphere. If I'm being fussy, the roasties were more like chunky chips than roast potatoes. But everything else was nicely cooked with good flavour, including roast turkey which was moist. And there's not many places where you can get a Sunday roast for under £11 any more.
We've been here many times and always enjoy it. The staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful, the premises well kept and comfortable, the Ember menu wide and imaginative, the range of drinks pretty good. So for a quick celebratory lunch, I wasn't surprised when my wife chose the Seven Stars.
The service was good from start to finish. A nice welcome and we were shown to our table. We chose, went to the bar to order where the staff were very good. Waiting staff good and check back within 5 to 10 minutes. They food was lovely and hot and cooked well. Good team on this shift.
Lovely family restaurant. Highly recommend a visit. Very accommodating and friendly! Food is really tasty, so much so that my daughter has 2 childrens meals each time we go. Great place!!
Brilliant lunch with staff service excellent. Food was so good but abit much for two oldies. We could not finish our servings. Food was good value for money. Will definitely be there again soon.
Always absolutely fantastic.came back after a few years. Still absolutely amazing. Can't fault the food and the staff
Had a great evening celebrating my husbands Birthday on Tuesday. 13 of us and all the meals came out together and we're lovely. Thank you
Really lovely food served hot. Highly recommend the Mixed Grill. Attentive and friendly staff. Overall and very pleasant experience after a very long day.
Went in for lunch in the afternoon, very quiet which was nice. Quick service. I had garlic mushrooms and then a mac n cheese. It was really good! The nicest mac n cheese I've had out.
Visited to see family and I have to say this was one of the best meals we have ever had! The nachos were fantastic, the steak better than miller and carter! Amazing meal!
Very busy pub, even at weekday.
Food is good.
Staff are very friendly and welcoming 😁
I cannot thank Molly, Lydia and all the staff at the Seven Stars more. My elderly mum lives nearby and we had dinner there most nights when my dad was in hospital, as we were too shattered to cook - the food is excellent - nothing was too much trouble for Molly and the kitchen staff. Unfortunately my dad passed away and because of the way that the staff had treated us, I organised his wake there. I ordered the gold buffet for 30 people, plus cakes and tea/coffee - the total cost was about £450 and despite over 50 people showing up and Lydia sorting take away boxes for everyone (who were all full) there was still a tiny bit left. They REALLY looked after us, giving us half the pub as a private area - the whole party (family, friends, neighbours) have all commented on how fab it was and have said they will use the pub more as the food is sublime - our occasion was unfortunate, but the gold buffet (which includes veggie, vegan, meat and fish dishes) and venue would be equally fab for a wedding, christening, birthday etc. also having a lovely outdoor area and large car park - thankyou Molly, Lydia and especially the chef's....oh and I heartily recommend the "posh fish and chips" for a dinner xx
The drinks are delicious and very well priced. The staff is wonderful. We will come back every week.
As always a very good experience-we we're a big party and the staff coped really well-Lydia was her usual efficient friendly self-well done and thank you Lydia -she really is an asset to Ember Inns.
