Treated John Taylor to breakfast/brunch today after two hours working in the community garden across the road; it was delicious - and the flat white is still the best in Exeter!

I have been going to Cafe at 36 since it opened in 2006, my friends and I nick-named it "Posh on a Friday" , the staff are always very friendly & pleasant. The food is always fresh and well presented, it's very reasonable price too, they use local businesses for their ingredients which in turn helps everyone. The interior is always bright with an array of paintings by local artists, John & Sue are very obliging in helping local groups to advertise their shows, fetes etc. The book shelves are full of different types of books that you can borrow & return, their is also a small box of toys for the younger children to play with as the cafe is child friendly. They also run a loyalty card system. Xx

Fantastic coffee and a great selection of sweet and savory offerings. Friendly service and atmosphere! The hot chocolate is an extra special treat. We were there daily during a recent visit to the area and can’t wait to be back. The steak and stilton pie and sour cherry and pistachio cake were a couple of our favorites not to mention the toasties which make a hearty lunch. Such a lovely cafe!

Visited this cafe recently and was surprised how big it is inside. Had coffee and cake. Cake was delicious and they had decaf coffee. The place got filled really quickly, think it's popular. Service was courteous and prompt. Will be back.

Great coffee and wonderful that it's not a chain! Can't be a little quiet but is quirky and nice to spend time or to get a takeaway from

Looked for a local cafe doing fresh food and this one was well recommended. Didn't disappoint, friendly service and great selection of pastries, pies, toasties and bagels with a tasty selection of veggie vegan fillings. Take away for second visit - vegan sausage roll? Sadly no heating facilities and the roll itself was bland and tasteless. Back to the Crusty Cob for take outs! Apologies to the owner who has kindly clarified on the heating facilities...it wasn't offered to me so my mistake! More spices needed for my taste, however I am delighted they are so popular. All the best.

Nice cafe, didn't have much to offer people and no menus on the table so no idea on what they sell or the prices, more of a boho place but still nice and clean and the lady serving us was very friendly. This was a one off visit for us,we did buy a peanut butter brownie to take away for me to have later in the day and that was very nice. I never saw any blackboards as we entered the shop, but now you know they are there you will know what to look for if anyone goes to visit.

Absolutely love cheese pasties. On passing by after dentist visit noticed all the lovely food on display. Thought I'd try a pasty and was not disappointed. Warmed through fo my tea and it was delicious and not full of onion like so many are. I will be trying cakes I spotted another favourite -- coffee and walnut. Highly recommend to anyone for who likes proper cakes and pastries.and of course pasties .Keep up the good work x x

If you're like me and enjoy speciality coffee either espresso based or filtered then Cafe At 36 is one to visit and will not disappoint. I'll typically brew at home but will always make a trip here. Rob is really passionate about coffee and that becomes very evident given how incredible the coffee served here is. Not only that, but the food is phenomenal and there's always something different to try out. No question Cafe at 36 is one of Exeter's best cafés!
