Visited with a friend and two 4 year olds today. The cafe garden was lovely to sit and enjoy the sunshine. The food was delicious - I loved the fresh humous platter - it was healthy too! The cakes looked amazing but sadly we didn't have room! The staff were really friendly and helpful too. I can highly recommend and will definitely be back soon!

My dad loves to come here for the delicious dropscones! The food came beautifully presented and we were pleasantly surprised when the owner brought extra dropscones because she wasn't 100% happy with the first batch! Lovely sunny, dog-friendly garden and we were made to feel very welcome. Will definitely come back, and recommend to others!

With great, tasty, home-made food and a relaxed atmosphere, this is the perfect place for coffee and cake or a more substantial lunch. We were made to feel very welcome at The Welcome Cafe, and I wish them luck!

Amazing independent cafe in a beautiful location overlooking the canal. Wide selection of homemade cakes and meals with lots of veggie and vegan options. Portions are very generous and won't leave you disappointed. The generosity in the meals matches the attitude of the owners and staff, which makes you feel at home here - not something that can easily be created in a busy cafe. The coffee is also really good quality and the machine and baristas back this up too. More than worth a visit, especially to coincide with a stroll around the quayside. Shout out to the courgette cake too with an awesome cream cheese icing!

Lovely little dog friendly cafe although a little crowded for space they managed to squeeze all 6 of us in. The food was superb and everyone enjoyed everything we ordered! The tea was served in a small pot with a strainer and tea leaves which is fancy but ineffective as the tea just would not brew but the coffee and smoothies were great.

A lovely courtyard to sit in the sun. Good options for dietary requests, excellent selection of cakes and goodies. And the Vegan mezze platter was yummy and really filling.

One of the best places to have a coffee next to the quay. It doesn't have great river views but it has a lovely garden in the back, we went there on a sunday and there was life music, a gentleman playing the gitar so it wasn't too loud. Amazing cakes ♡♡

It's lovely, great food and really nice people. Did pancakes for our toddlers though they weren't on the menu, bacon baguettes were huge though the extra egg was perfect. Would definitely go back for the sardine wrap, my partner had one and only shared a little! 😐

Wow! What a lovely place. Superb soup and coffee today for me and a really decent menu with lots of veggie options. Wish I'd come here before, bit difficult when you're paddle boarding, but if you're walking or cycling definitely give it a try. You will not be disappointed.

Good food. I'd go again. Good coffee. Slow service at busy time, so cakes and coffee came, followed by the savoury stuff half an hour later. But food made up for it. Obviously popular. Nice to spend money with an independent. This cafe has what looks like an accessible loo (few and far between) but in practice could be difficult to get to it. Did have baby change facilities though.

Absolutely lovely café! The staff are friendly, the good is lush and varied, the desserts amazing! I loved how there were separate seating areas for privacy and they even have nice toilets with a baby change. The view of the canal is a bonus as well. Just a real nice little gem of a find!

Ok people aim yourselves in this direction this place serves got food until 3pm toilets are in the courtyard. The toilets also have sanitary products in the drawers if your caught short so good news for all you ladies out there. The food is amazing I had bacon baguette with cheese the baguette was fresh and crunchy on the outside soft on the inside, served with a varied beautiful salad. My other half had a mushroom and tarragon soup with a warm fresh cheese scone. We both had the coffee which is awesome it's light so doesn't sit heavy in your stomach. Has a great vibe, staff are very friendly and helpful. Added bonus are, parking available and are dog friendly. So take a walk down the quay and have a great time at the welcome cafe.

A beautiful little independently run cafe, perfect for tea and cake or light lunches. I used to pop in and warm up after rowing in the morning and love to stop by when I'm in the area. The menu is fairly small, but all delicious homemade food. The staff and owners are really friendly and their is always a lovely atmosphere. My only reason for giving the Welcome Cafe a 4 is that you can't book tables, which means I don't get there as often as I would like to!
