I have always enjoyed the food at the conservatory.. The lunch at £12 to £15 for 2 or 3 courses was really amazing value. Decent starter (Brie and chilli jam in a tartlet, and steak main (£3extra) and some amazing French style potatoes (really incredible). My wife loved her haddock main. Overall well worth a visit for lunch.
Beautiful place to eat. From the outside it doesn't look much but inside it's very quaint. The food was seriously tasty to. We had the brie , steak and eton mess.
A real hidden gem… from the street this little restaurant front is not much to look at to be honest. When you get inside and to the dining area, it begins to shine! We have eaten here for dinner a few times now and always been impressed. The quality of the food is outstanding for the money they charge. £30 for 3 courses (some dishes carry a supplement) and all great quality. Not a massive menu but that’s a good thing… what they do, they do well. Casual and friendly, but good service from all the staff.
What a gem! Fantastic food and service. Made very welcome by the staff. Great setting with a cosy atmosphere. All our party enjoyed the meal. Thanks to The Conservatory. We will visit again. Highly recommended.
We have been coming here for 6 years and the food is always excellent. The menu is limited although offers enough to suit most. The food is delicious and well presented. I like coming here because it’s a great independent restaurant that supports local products. Also, very good value.
Amazing food at a very reasonable price. The restaurant doesn't look impressive from outside but it is actually quite bright and cheerful inside. The building is very old.
The service is immaculate. Our maitre de was attentive but not hurried and quick to offer alternatives.
Our meal was wonderful. Beautifully presented and excellent quality. A big plus was that our main course came with vegetables.
I highly recommend the Conservatory restaurant and will visit again the next time I am in Exeter
The food was excellent. The duck was flavoursome, the meat fell off the bone and the skin was a little crisp and very tasty. Lamb melted in your mouth and was really exceptional. The chicken was also very nicely flavoured and tender (I didn't try the salmon but I am told it was really yummy as well).
For the desserts, the crème brûlée was really creamy and lovely and went very well with the chopped up strawberries that come with it. The chocolate délice was also a real indulgence, the raspberry sorbet on the side went with it perfectly.
Also must add that the service was very good, they were timely with everything but not too fast, it was really pleasant a great place to go for a family meal or a nice date.
We arrived early for lunch. This place was located on a quiet street, but once inside the restaurant, you get light rush in from the conservatory windows.
We ordered the 3 course meal, and all the dishes we had were well cooked. For the ham terrine, I would liked more watercress, but that’s the only complain I had.
Been here three times in the past two weeks because of how incredible this place is. The food is stunning and always perfectly cooked. The items on the menu's, both lunch and dinner are varied and are composed of very beautiful flavour combinations. A real treat of a place. I wouldn't bat an eye if this place was expensive as it's worth it 100%. And that's the thing, it's not expensive. It's actually cheap, especially for lunch. 3 courses at lunch = £13. And 3 at dinner is £30.
Best restaurant gem in Exeter. You must go!
This place is amazing! The food is soooo good and the service is lovely too. Make sure you have dessert, the chocolate fondant is to die for!
