At the Topo Topo Gigio.. This treasure of an Italian restaurant may look slightly dated but is still very much presentable, comforting and accomodating for parties. The staff are all very hard working and helpful led by the manageress who has the prefect sence of humour for the venue.

Expect all the trimmings here, the olives, bread sticks, a round of warm bread rolls AND bruschetta before you even look at the menu which is always of excellent value. The set menus and lunch set menus are bargains for what you get.

The food is good, fresh and filling and do go here for a full 3 course meal instead of a snacking main or quick lunch and don't be shy with the house wines again at a bargain price.

This Restaurant seems to be busy while others are not, boasting a good regular customer base which they look after very well while pleasing new visitors. Ideal for dates, couples and family gatherings. If you ever fantasied about eating in one of those restaurants from the movies minus the mobsters of course, Topo Gigio's is the perfect restaurant.

So, finally after years of going on and off to Topo Gigio a review! I hadn't been here for a number of years but Sunday lunch with family and friends was a good way to reconnect with the restaurant. As always the service was on point, attentive, not too invasive and all the staff were very friendly! I decided to go for the £16.95 3 course set menú and I wasn't disappointed! It was pretty much as I remember it...tried and tested, with a good variety of dishes for all to enjoy! I had the bresaola as a starter and it was very nice, the cured beef was moist and had a hint of sweetness to it and along with the salad and shaved parmiggiano and a squeeze of lemon went down very well to start the meal off! As for a main I had claves liver with sage an butter...very tasty and melt in the mouth. It came with green beans, battered and fried courgettes and sliced roast potatoes all served in oval dishes so you could help yourself. The spuds were on point and the courgettes crunchy and light...the beans were nice and tender. A lovely and not too heavy main course! For dessert I had the lemon tart and it rounded off the meal very well, not too sweet, not too sharp. 5 stars was easy as quality and value for money are spot on here! So if you like simple and tasty Italian dishes then give this place a go! You won't be disappointed! :)

Last night was my first visit. I came with a friend. We were given olives and bread as we sat down. Garlic bread was offered as we looked through the menu. We are both veggies and we easily found dishes to order. Our food was delicious and homemade. We enjoyed both main courses and dessert. We really enjoyed our evening. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff looked after us well. It was really great good at very low cost. A little gem of a restaurant.

This place is such a gem, the service is excellent and the food is just as good. Best steak I have had in years. Very tender. Love the extra touch of fresh bread and olives ready on the table when you sit down, and mints after the main course. Will be returning very soon. Thankyou Topo Gigio!

We regularly visit this amazing restaurant, have done for 15/20 years, ever since I was a kid and we moved to the area. I now take my child there and they are always so welcoming. Food is awesome, staff are brilliant, restaurant is immaculate and the prices are extremely low, especially the set menu. A proper Italian restaurant with cloth table cloths and napkins. Breadsticks, olives and fresh bread on table, plus a garlic bread toast served fresh upon arrival, all at no extra cost. Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
