Best bacon rolls ever hubby had sausages on his looked every bit as good. Highly recommend.
Mum and I came in for two hot filled rolls! One was black pudding and egg and the other was bacon and egg! Both gone within minutes! Always great stopping here when travelling up and down the road! First time here in years! Love love loved it!
We stop anytime we pass , the horn bacon rolls are something else the best anywhere in Scotland
Biggest bacon roll ever.staff excellent. Would highly recommend
Lovely restaurant situated just off the dual carriageway. Good selection of hot and cold foods. Lovely wee gift shop attached at the front. Decent prices. Clean and tidy inside. Best roll & bacon ever!
Fantastic road side cafe if you’re ever travelling between Dundee and Perth. They’re well renowned for their massive bacon rolls, which are about 4.50 but absolutely packed!
Other meals are on offer, full breakfast, mince and chips etc.
Huge fan of the bacon rolls and regularly stop in when I’m passing by.
The Horn has changed it’s bacon, it used to be streaky but I got back bacon, it’s not as salty but still tastes fantastic. If you’re on that road and need a bacon roll you just can’t go anywhere else.
An absolute must stop, good value for money and feels like you've been transported back to the 50s (which I think is down to a lack of investment and not by design lol). The portions are big and the food is surprisingly good.
Middle of nowhere, stuck in time kind of diner to stop and break a long journey. Roadway American diner vibes, dated but with old charm. Sadly it's quite limited with its range, do not expect croissants or nice pain au chocolat.. it's just basic rolls and some sweet bakes. Good coffee though!
Staff were incredibly friendly and patient. Food was ok but not exceptional. Still worth a visit though.
best bacon roll north of the border.
Had one of the famous bacon rolls, which fulfilled the promise of containing vast amounts of bacon. This is a classic no-frills roadside cafe. Don’t expect haute cuisine.
Heard great things about their bacon 🥓 roll. Wasn't disappointed,😀
The restaurant is very "Dated" in it's decor, which some people might think adds to its appeal,🤔
Would definitely go back, the bacon 🥓 roll was delicious 😋
The Horn is a roadside café well known for its breakfasts... the rolls in particular have a reputation for being loaded with crispy bacon. The Horn is the place to go if you fancy a link, lorne/square sausage on a roll or, as mentioned above, a bacon roll. There probably are other items on the menu...it's just a local legend for its all day breakfast fare.
The place itself is vintage. Whether the vibe is deliberate or it's just not been decorated since the sixties, is difficult to tell, but it creates a very unique ambience which would be a big shame to lose if it ever does undergo renovations.
Outside the Horn is a large fiberglass highland coo that looks like it was partly responsible for a secret marijuana farm that was broken up by the police recently!
Though it's an older café, there is a ramp at the front and accessibility is fairly good. I can't comment on whether there is a disabled toilet or not. Best ring ahead and check if you think you'll be needing one.
I ordered a breakfast. It was all cooked to perfection, including the egg which was slightly cooked on top but nice and runny in the middle... and they even allowed me to replace a cooked tomato with an extra sausage. Stacks of bacon, as is the way of the Horn. I could probably have used a side of stents for my long suffering arteries... but as always it was great!
Good for taking a trip back in time, still looks as if nothing has changed since it opened. Good selection of food including the monster bacon roll. A little pricey but to be expected of a road side café.
Great food and very cheap. They don't scrimp on the portions. As someone said to me, their bacon roll is like "half a pig".
Bacon rolls to die for . Well the pigs did and the horn cooks them perfectly
