Lovely pub. Staff are really welcoming. I had my two dogs and wanted to go somewhere where I could eat indoors. Nice small but varied menu. I had the salt beef sandwich. Came with chips. Very nice salt beef. Just wish the mustard was a little bit stronger as could hardly taste it, maybe a personal preference tho. Anyway great value at £10. Will definitely be back. Update..... Went back for the Sunday roast (mixed) and was the best roast I've ever had. Unbelievable food.
Our daughter's 25th birthday was saved at the last minute by The Merry Fiddlers who managed to fit a table of ten in during the Christmas period after our original booking cancelled on us the day before. From the moment we walked in everything was perfect from the setting, to the service to the food. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, particularly Morgan and Gemma who made sure everything went perfectly. The food is stunning and had a great mix of dishes to keep anyone happy and the taste and presentation were equal to any fine dining restaurant in London. It was our first time here and we will definitely return as the whole evening was amazing and finished off beautifully by the picturesque setting in the deep snow that just gave the whole thing a very movie like feel.
Lovely food and great service. Nice clean and welcoming atmosphere. Staff were very helpful with accessibility issues with my wheelchair and had a separate entrance with lift to get me inside. The menu was very interesting and lots of great options to choose from including the lunchtime options since it was midday when we were there. We had a great time with a lovely relaxed meal celebrating my daughter's graduation and would definitely go again. My daughter and her partner have been several times already and this is why we chose to go there to celebrate. Tasty food, relaxed atmosphere, would definitely recommend a visit and can also heartily recommend.
Enjoyed an amazing afternoon tea here, the sandwiches were amazing as were the scones, pastries and cakes promptly served by friendly and obliging staff, chose the tea without proscetto option and wasn't disappointed, plenty of tea provided.Great atmosphere, lots of attention to detail and very clean decor. Plenty of free parking alongside. Highly recommended and we will be returning to sample the Sunday roast.
Finally somewhere has got it right! 100% Amazing "pub" food, better than what you'd expect without trying to be something it's not. Prompt friendly staff. Very reasonable prices. Comfortable seats! Simple ingredients blended in such a way to make amazing dishes. After talking to one of the waiters, we discovered everything is cooked from scratch. one of the best meals ourt we've ever had.
Sharon and I celebrated our wedding anniversary yesterday by having an afternoon tea at the Merry Fiddlers pub in Epping. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The sandwiches, scones and sugar treats were all very delightful.
The pub itself was very lovely and provided a really nice venue for our afternoon tea. Our visit was made even more superb by the careful attention we received from Ellie……she took care of us in a special way and her efforts made our visit even more enjoyable.
We will definitely visit the Merry Fiddlers again!!!
Great country pub. Fab outside area but weather wasn’t great so we sat inside. Roast dinner was delicious with plenty of food on the plate. Staff were very welcoming and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.
When I saw the fish and chips sent out to another table, I'm glad I opted for the smaller portion. The fish was delightfully crispy with no greasy residue found in other places. I ate every one one of those fries, deliciously seasoned and fried to perfection. Washed it all down with a cold Guinness, and my meal was complete.
We ate lunch here today and everything was delicious. The regular French fries were excellent, like one of the reviewers mentioned. The grilled steak salad was fantastic, and if you like blue cheese I highly recommend it.
My sister had chicken main which was as expected. They both had brownie dessert which was more fondant than rock hard dry brownie which is a good thing in my book. Well worth a visit.
All of it was fantastic! Mine was the pork belly and it was probably the best Pork Belly I've ever had. The Yorkshire Pudding was nice big, plump and crisp. Potatoes were roasted to perfection then the carrots and greens were nice and tender.
gorgeous meal, great service and lovely light, airey and classy interior. Celebrated my daughters graduation here and she received a complimentary glass of wine. Highly recommended.
Great blend of traditional pub food and fine dining! Reasonably priced and the service was impeccable.
We will be definitely be returning, thank you for a lovely meal.
The staff is extraordinarily friendly and welcoming, and I would recommend this place for that reason alone. The food puts it over the top, though. I was leaning toward the fish and chips, but my server wisely steered me toward the cod goujon sandwich with french fries.
Everyone enjoyed their meal tremendously and my son thought there FnC was "Awesome". The staff was super friendly, chatty and helpful. Always seemed to have a good crowd. I can't recommend them enough!
We had a gift voucher given to us for Afternoon Tea & Bubbles, sandwiches/cakes all good. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere, will definitely return.
Had a beer and a burger. Both delicious and the service was 2nd to none.
Shout out to the helpful, friendly, and efficient staff. Thanks for a wonderful afternoon.
Approachable patrons too.
Great atmosphere, great food, great visit.
We’ve eaten there several times over the last few years and every time the food seems to go up another level. Stunningly presented and amazing flavours.
