Smith's had been in business for about ten years the first time I ate their fish and chips, and they were the best for miles around even then. I was pleased to see they're still there, especially as so much of the Epping I once knew is gone, and am delighted to say the food is just as good as ever.
Been going to Smiths for years, by far the best fish and chip shop however the portions are getting smaller and smaller- my son bought chips today, it was not even a portion, I had to go out to buy some more. Smiths is also very expensive, coupled with the portion size, they rival down the road has

Peggotys was closed on Sunday so tried out Smith's.
First point to note, cash only. Staff are friendly and our order was freshly cooked. Told it would be ready in 10 minutes and at 12 we were back at the car.
The chips are Peggotys are far superior. Just miles ahead. A much bigger portion, cooked
Best cod and chips in the area in my humble opinion. Everything cooked well and the fish is fresh and succulent. It's a positive delight for the taste buds and reasonably priced too.
Smiths used to be a very good fish and chip shop but my opinion its not as good now

Lovely local place with Very fresh food. Tasty fish and chips. Nice staff members. I love that they have the cream soda drink it feels very retro. Also the fried snicker bar is yummy as well, especially as not many places do it.
