Great pub on the edge of Epping, in the forest. Dog friendly and great burgers! Thank you.
Lovely old pub with great garden, nice crowd too.
Visited with a friend on Saturday evening. The open area outside gives it the feel of a pub on the village green. It's a nice, older building and had some quirky bits both outside and inside. The drinks and sevice were good bit we didnt eat there. Can't say I saw anyone eating but it was about 8pm
We haven't tried the food yet but it is a lovely place for a pitch stop while walking at Epping forest
The Forest Gate Inn never disappoints, I used to frequent it regularly. This was however the first visit back in over 13 years since I moved away, but I am happy to say nothing much has changed. It is still every bit as charming and quaint as I remembered it. Dog friendly, roaring fire, no slot mach
It’s a good place for break when you walk the Oak Trail or the walk around the Epping forest.
There is clean toilet available next to the pub counter and some outdoor seating have umbrella so if you don’t want to sit under the sun that’s quite good in a hot day.
Also it’s a pet friendly place :)
One of a few pubs you can still get a ploughman's. The food was good and the staff were very friendly. Will be back.
Fabulous pub had lunch loved it definitely go again. Lovely atmosphere great people.
Fantastic pub! Great place for a quiet pint on your own or with friends and family.
Proper old style British Pub. Good traditional pub grub and friendly staff.
Great home cooked food.
Been here a few times now and can't fault the food.
Very friendly staff great country pub feel. Very warm with the traditional log burner.
Would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone.
Pretty good experience every time. Beer is kept well, nice atmosphere, good service.
Dog friendly, good choice of ales, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. They do food here, we didn't eat but the staff enquired if we wanted to before they shut the kitchen, which was very thoughtful. We sat outside under cover as we had muddy boots from a forest walk and the weather was warm enou
Lovely country pub,great kitchen
Proper pub grub
Only place to visit when walking in epping forest. Lots of locals and owners were on hand. Very pleasant to stop for a light lunch and beverage
An old-school pub full of character. Long may it remain so.
Always a good friendly atmosphere, food is lovely, lasagna in particular!!! A hidden gem on the edge of Epping.
This is a lovely old pub not far (about a mile) from Epping High Street. It is tiny inside and most of the seating is outside. The three of us had sandwiches for lunch which were really tasty - coronation chicken, sausage and onion and cheese and pickle. We had good friendly service and would go ba
A bustling pub full of locals with a huge garden space with plenty of room for all. The staff were friendly and the drinks were good value. Food was lovely however the crisps were a bit stale and salad a bit lacking with the sandwiches otherwise really lovely and good value for money
