Found this place yesterday, what a delight. Didn't have tea in the shop but bought some to take home, which was wonderful. The staff were helpful and friendly and my new Japanese tea brewing pot is just fantastic. I also recommend the ginger and chocolate brownies totally scrummy. I will be going back but, next time, I'll make sure that I organise myself so that I can stay for a while.

We pop the in from Cutlacks next door for coffee or tea but for me the Avocado on sour dough is fantastic a great lunch. They have a very varied and interesting menu this is a must go to place in Ely.

I had a really excellent lunch at Samovar on Wednesday during the install of my new Art exhibition, friendly staff and a stunning variety of teas available. Would definitely recommend as it gave me a much needed boost of energy! Thanks, Oliver

This is one of those rare, quintessentially English, establishments, where the joys of drinking various types of tea can be explored to the full. The decor is unpretentious. Our table was a sewing machine in a previous life, and still had the treadle, in cast iron underneath. A great touch. The tea is served in individual pots and there is a vast range to choose from. The menu gives helpful descriptions as to the various flavourings and the staff are knowledgable enough to be able to advise if you're not sure. The food on offer is snacky, freshly made sandwiches, bagels and toasties mainly. There's some excellent black and white photos on the wall. Whenever we go to Ely, this is always the place we gravitate to!

We came to Samovar on Sunday and had some amazing food! It's so refreshing to find a quality independent place serving exciting meat-free, dairy free, veg-based (cake!) options and such a variety of beautiful teas. The peanut chilli and smoked tofu bagel was amazing! My friend even went as far as to say it's the best sandwich she's ever had! We also enjoyed impeccable service from the super lovely and friendly staff. We will be recommending far and wide and returning as soon as we can! Thank you!

Sat here enjoying a wonderful cup of tea, having just had some sourdough with avocado, and now eating the most divine piece of chocolate and dark cherry cake. This place is my favourite relaxing get away.

It's been amazing to see Samovar Tea House grow from a small stand in Cambridge market to this incredibly warm and unique place. I always leave with a huge smile, feeling calmer and inspired by the beauty of the teas and Sofia 's craft. Delicious fresh food and indulgent cakes make for a perfect afternoon. An absolute must for any time spent in Ely. But please open up a cafe in Cambridge! Me and my mum love your tea and cakes too much!

Such a lovely place with an insane selection of teas and gorgeous food. As for the staff they really are the loveliest bunch. Try their polish doughnuts and cherry and chocolate rooibus. You can thank me later!
