Called in to the grey horse in elvington for a drink. It's a nice cosy traditional English village pub. A good selection of beers and lagers including hand pulled cask conditioned real ale. There's a dart board in the bar and is dog friendly. There is a nice separate Lounge where they serve food.
Wanted to go to a pub outside of York in a nice little village and Google maps found this one. The Grey Horse is a lovely little quaint pub in Elvington. We had Zak as our server and he gave my fiancé and I excellent customer service. The food was amazing, I loved my lasagne and found the pesto topping really went well with it. Price range is just right, very good for the portions of food you get. Just be aware it’s a slightly tight turning into the car park. If in the area will call again. Highly recommended.
Sunday lunch with our caravan club friends. Food OK, company convivial, nice beer.
Good to see the pub open again. Just enjoyed the lunchtime menu, which was very tasty & great value - adding a pint for a pound.
Very welcoming & dog friendly - we will be back.
Lovely friendly welcoming country pub, it is dog friendly inside which is a bonus, plenty of outside seating, you can choose behind the pub (by the carpark) which has a TV outside, in front of the pub or even across the road on the village green. We stayed in the upstairs of the pub and would highly recommend, everything was so clean and comfortable, everything you needed as well. We had a meal in the evening and there was plenty of choice and it was all cooked perfectly, we also had breakfast the next morning and that was lovely to. So, in all, I would highly recommend every aspect of this lovely pub
This was our second visit to the pub after our first visit was a little rushed (entirely our doing), so we wanted to go back as we could sense the pub was great. Both times the food was of great quality and good value (we had the beef pie, prawn linguine and deep-fried halloumi with chips on this visit) and my 3yr old is something of a mac'n'cheese connoisseur and this was one is up there for him. The service is excellent, they work hard to ensure you're looked after. It was lovely to see a pub so busy at 6pm on a Friday, it had a lovely atmosphere, defo worth booking a table if your eating ( the online booking wasn't working at the time so we called up). Final note, lovely cutlery for our small pasta fiend which is just a nice touch. Look forward to going back.
Nice place for a meal, friendly staff. Very close to the air museum. Manager great, friendly, says overnight campervans welcome when eating and drinking

Ate Sunday lunch here, roast potatoes crispy outside beautifully fluffy inside, roast beef was tender just a little pink, just right. Vegtables cooked to perfection.
Warm friendly welcome, nothing was too much trouble.
I had the gammon with double eggs chips and peas, and very nice it was indeed.
Lovely pub with a very cosy, casual feel with friendly locals and bar staff.Menu very pub grub and inexpensive but good food and service.Interior is oldy worldy with lots of equestrian influence.Worth a visit if your in the area!!!!!
This pub has been transformed in the last year to a wonderful family friendly pub with some actual decent food!
Afternoon visit while passing through but the service and food were both excellent and would recommend if your in the area.
Nipped in for a coke whilst waiting for my car in the garage down the road, and it was a pleasant experience, friendly staff, and an overall nice atmosphere.
Friendly and welcoming pub. Great service and fabulous food. We had the vegan Louisiana burger and loved it!
A great little find. We stayed there to use the driving experience near by. We had a lovely warm welcome. The room was nicely decorated, very clean and lovely big bath towels. The pub food was good and reasonably priced. Sam served our food and he was really polite with a smile. The chef made us an early breakfast as we were leaving before the kitchen opened. Overall we would recommend and we would stay there again 😀
Stopped off for a pint and lunch after my helicopter flight at the airfield and found the staff polite and helpful. The meal was delicious, especially the generous helping of apple and blackberry crumble.
Good pub grub although Gammon was the only gluten free choice. The pies looked yummy and were enjoyed.
