Quite simply, an excellent vegan breakfast!
This was our first visit to The Mere Cafe and certainly will not be the last. Breakfast was one of the best vegan cooked breakfast’s that we have had. Great taste / flavour and came out in food time too.

If you're in Ellesmere don't walk past this place - walk in. If you have refill bottles this is the place to save plastic and the food is delicious whether you are vegan or not. If you can only visit one cafe/restaurant - choose this one. Very delicious vegan food, cakes and drinks. Friendly and helpful staff. Prices are low for the quality and quantity you get.
Lovely cafe with friendly atmosphere, great selection of books and delicious food. I had hummus, roast tomato, spinach toastie and vegan hot chocolate. Both very tasty and reasonably priced.
Went in on their opening day - very nice and friendly cafe. I also like their social mission and Ellesmere needs more vegetarian options.

After hearing so much about this place I finally visited today with my husband. What a gem of a cafe. We had a tea, coffee and 2 cakes. The waitress very kindly checked which cakes were GF before my husband made his choice. I had a non- GF cake. The GF cake was a fair bit bigger than mine which is
Lovely food and great service. Made to feel very welcome with our 2 dogs. As a meat eater I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the breakfast here! Definitely recommend and will be returning again soon 😃
Visited today for the first, but certainly not the last, time. Friendly welcome, relaxed atmosphere and great food. The vegan platter was very tasty and enjoyable. The owner is very chatty and helpful, and makes you very welcome.
