Just back home after a 3 day stay at The Ship Inn. We had a wonderful time in a beautiful place. The staff are excellent, yes, young(I’ve seen this as a criticism in some reviews) but friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. The food was fantastic, the bedroom was beautiful with a world class view. Sitting in the bar in front of the fire every night was wonderfully relaxing for us after a very stressful few months. We had some great walks in an area we’d never been to before, Elie and the East Neuk are well worth a visit. A few more comfy chairs in the bar area would be a welcome addition, otherwise pretty perfect. We will come back!

Gluten free ice cream is not true. We had a wonderful time in The Ship Inn. Beautiful place. The staff friendly. The food was fantastic, I am a gluten free eater. Everything was perfect... But your ice cream as said on the menu to be gluten free I did ask the lady to make sure... Your ice cream is not Gluten free. I'm still very sick after eating it.

Great food. Friendly staff. Great location, decor and most important, clean & pleasant toilets. Would definitely recommend anyone visiting Elie or surrounding area make a point of eating here. Will certainly revisit The Ship Inn. Eight of us had dinner here and every dish was delicious and presented beautifully.

Cracking place! We stopped by for a wee drink on Friday and decided to book for the Sunday night. The guy in charge (?) booked all 11 of us in and the wee dog! The place is amazing. Nothing too much trouble. Kids menu fab. Service great!

February isn't the best time of year to go anywhere on holiday in Scotland but we loved our week in the East Neuk and the Ship Inn was one of the highlights. I recommend the affordable bar menu, the table beside the fire and the Crab Linguine.

We had a fabulous meal at the Ship Inn. The guinea fowl was so moist and the accompaniments made for a delicious, flavoursome plate of food.

The meal & wine was excellent. Couldn't fault any of it and probably one of the best meals both my Partner and I have had in a restaurant. We had the focaccia, olives and oysters for starter / nibbles then the lobster gnocchi & flat iron steak for mains. The service was also brilliant, from the pick up / drop off facility, to the restaurant staff. We'll definitely be back the next time we visit the area

Quaint Old Pub sitting right opposite Ellie Harbour. Friendly Staff, nice food, although expensive for what it was. Very busy,so much that we were haggled for our table,by a very rude couple, who obviously had no manners or patience just as we finished our meal. We kindly allowed them to sit, prior to telling them that we wanted to use the rest room before leaving,as we had a long drive to Glasgow. We left our jackets to be put on after using the rest room, only to be told by these scavengers, that would we mind taking our jackets with us,as now it was there table. Lesson learnt for future,Do not give anyone our table until we are ready to leave the premises.

We enjoyed a fabulous family lunch as part of our holiday in Elie. We’ve eaten here a few times. The food was delicious, although the menu wasn’t as varied as it has been. The service was absolutely fantastic. The girls serving our table of eight were just brilliant. Smooth, natural service with a smile. Thank you!

We visited this week for dinner after being recommended by a friend. The location is beautiful and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our children had sausages and the burger off the kid's menu and they didn't leave a single crumb. My Husband and I ordered the chicken option and it was absolutely delicious! We all enjoyed a dessert too and they were perfect - the kid's in particular raved about their cookie dough and ice cream. My only small negative which is a compliment, really was that for the price the adult portions felt a little small and we both commented that after we'd finished we didn't feel full. We would definitely return if we're in the area again and would highly recommend to others!

Great Pub, plesent staff, lots of locals which is fab, and a magnificent view of the beach and harbour. The only downside is the price at about £6 a pint, so remortgage before visiting. But highly recommended it's lovely. The decor in the pub is also ship themed including the ceiling with a large ships chart.

Excellent pub meal, great service, reasonable value and a really useful free pick up & drop off bus service. They have accommodation, but I haven't used it, so I can't comment on this.

I was meant to post this a few days ago but I had forgotten! The food was lovely, I had the battered haddock. The staff were so friendly, the food did take quite a while but overall it was a great experience right next to the beach as-well! There was this one young man at the bar very polite and chatty, but I cannot remember his name he was blonde with brown eyebrows very nice.

Played cricket on the beach against the Ship Inn team. Wow! What a set up and fantastic facility. Graham and Rachel were superb hosts. Great atmosphere inside and out. Bravo!

Really lovely food and great presentation. Starter of crispy goats cheese with beetroot/walnuts was lovely but three tiny pieces of goats cheese and a few small cubes of beetroot etc. so it did feel very overpriced at almost £10. Whereas the desserts at a similar price were generous and delicious . Tiramisu was out of this world. Oh and it's dog friendly.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Ship Inn in Ellie, Scotland, and I must say it was an incredible experience. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home. One of the highlights of my visit was the delicious bowl of Cullen Skink, a traditional Scottish dish, that I ordered. The creamy soup was filled with chunks of smoked haddock, potatoes, and onions, creating a comforting and flavorful combination. It was clear that the chef took great care in preparing this dish, as every spoonful was a delightful burst of flavors. Aside from the delectable cuisine, the surrounding location of The Ship Inn is simply breathtaking. Ellie itself is a picturesque coastal village, and the inn is perfectly situated to take full advantage of its beauty. The staff at The Ship Inn were friendly and attentive, ensuring that I had everything I needed throughout my meal. They were knowledgeable about the menu and the local area, and they were more than happy to answer any questions I had. The service was prompt and efficient, further enhancing the overall dining experience. In addition to the wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, and picturesque location, The Ship Inn also offers a wide selection of beverages, including a variety of locally brewed beers and whiskies. Whether you're a beer enthusiast or a whisky connoisseur, you're bound to find something that suits your taste. Overall, my visit to The Ship Inn in Ellie, Scotland was truly memorable. The great atmosphere, accompanied by the delightful bowl of Cullen Skink and the stunning surroundings, made for a fantastic dining experience. If you find yourself in Ellie, I highly recommend paying a visit to The Ship Inn for a taste of traditional Scottish cuisine and a glimpse of the region's natural beauty.

Some of the best food I have ever had. The bone marrow is absolutely fantastic. We had the chicken dish and it felt like a fine dining plate. 11/10. We will be back.

Had lunch, it was amazing, Cullen skink, muscles, fish and chips then passion fruit pavlova. Cold water was provided for free, the waitress had a genuine smile on her face, staff were adventive. Well definitely be back!

Great outdoor space overlooking the beach. Nice selection of drinks. BBQ’d scallops were huge but lacked flavour/seasoning.
