Excellent food. Is under modernisation so a bit of a mess but didn't detract from the standard of food.
Wow just wow. I can see why it won an award for best in the North West. Very tasty.
I've travelled all over the country with work, and tried loads of Indian food, and this is one of the best I've ever had. 😋
Top marks. 👌
Although we moved to Whitehaven in January 2020 we have yet to try out most places such as this hidden gem, unfortunately for me I won't be able to climb up the steps from the main entrance as I am disabled but on this particular visit my carer did climb the steps to collect our evening meal that I ordered over the phone, I asked for my most favourable keema madras and pilau rice and just 1 naan bread.
The quality was very good and plenty of it and the naan bread was very tasty but as usual I had to finish the remainder of that meal the next day.
I would of certainly booked a table to eat in as it's always a nice change from sitting at home but as I mentioned earlier I am disabled ♿.
But I will be ordering food from here again soon to try out the other flavours they have on the menu.
My carer did pick up a menu leaflet whilst she was waiting.
If you love your curries as much as I do you can't go wrong here!
And if you live local then this would be your most favourite place to come and eat.
With a varied selection of hot and very mild curries you're sure to find something to your liking I promise you.
Best takeaway we had from this place, we ordered chicken jalfrezi, lamb methi and Punjab style chick peas, alll dishes was very tasty and reasonable price.
It was ok
Quick and efficient
Garlic chili chicken and naan
Lovely place to eat. The food was cooked and presented beautifully. My friend and I were half the customer total, so we were a bit short on atmosphere, hence the missing star. I would go again though 😊
New to the area, tried Egremont tandoori a few months ago, weren't impressed, and when I reminded them about the 10% discount for collection, apparently "I caused them a lot of trouble"!? Anyway, tried tezza spice tonight and food was lovely, better than egremont tandoori, and I got the 10% discount without asking or any issues. Definitely going back. My first choice out of the 2 in Egremont.
Since recently reopening the restaurant post covid the menu has changed for the better, the facility has been renovated and the chef must be of high calibre. The food is some of the best Indian cuisine I have tasted. There's even a decent wine. Prices are very reasonable. Give it a try and ignore any review of the restaurant more than 3 months old!
Food was nice enough though the amount of chicken in the korma was disappointing.
I ordered one of the chef's specials to try something new. It was tasty, but not at all spicy despite being described as medium/hot on the menu.
I made an order via Just Eat at around 4.30pm on Saturday 18th September, 2021. It was easy to make my order, pay and then I was given a time of around 6pm for delivery. The food arrived piping hot, in a lovely Teza Spice bag at 5.30pm! Perfect! I ordered a chicken korma, garlic rice, garlic naan and some meat samosas. The meal was delicious, plenty for 2 people. The best I have had since returning to the UK early in 2020. Thank you. I will order again soon.
Great food and friendly staff. Recently been refurbished and looks good. I have not eaten in but only use it for takeaway. Which does not take away from the quality....see what I did there it's a play on words...never mind.
It has a selection of beers if you want one with your meal. I had some at home so did not bother.
If you collect your own order there is a discount on orders above £20. Best to work out if it's worth doing that for the price of petrol....although petrol does not taste very nice.
Fantastic take away and service . Just had to post a positive message following our visit to collect vegetable beriani vegetable samosa and roti all free from dairy , fresh, tasty, efficient and pleasant service . Visited nearby on holiday, we would visit again if holidaying again. Thanks
Excellent food very tasty and portion sizes were great
Customer service much appreciated
Will visit again in future
With the C19 virus lockdown still in place trying to find a good eatery in the Lake District is a bit limiting. But fortunately we came across this place via Just Eat, and judging by the mostly positive reviews are various sites we thought we'd give it a try.
Using their online menu via Just Eat (they do not have their website of their own at time of writing), it was easy to navigate and select the meals we wanted. But being as this was going to be our first time ordering food here we opted to go for some quite mild curries - a korma and chicken tikka masala, with coconut rice and fries.
The delivery charge is a bit on the steep side (£4.50) I don't know whether that is a fixed charge regardless of distance, but it is something to bear in mind when ordering. Fortunately given the distance and convenience we didn't really mind the charge, even the total bill came to around £23 for two.
The meals arrived on time, and was very well packed in individual foil trays. But we did put the chips and rice in the microwave just for a few seconds.
Plenty of tender chicken pieces in both curries, and the sauces were great albeit quite mild. The rice was also perfect without being too sticky or soggy.
The fries on the other hand, were hard/brittle in places; and they also turned cold quite quickly despite the microwave.
Overall, a rather excellent meal. I think we will order one portion of fries in future given the rather generous amount you recieve.
