Called in for a Sunday Roast, and was not disappointed. Trio of meat (beef, pork and chicken) all cook to perfection, mash, roasted pots, carrots, green beans, parsnips, peas, two Yorkshire puddings and plenty of proper gravy. I got the large and it was £15.95. Great value, as i throughly enjoyed it and i couldn't finish it all. (not like me) Bonus we could take our dog in also. Food 5* all day long, lost 1* because only 1 lager choice. Would recommend, and definitely go again.

Only came across this place fairly recently but love it. Always welcoming and with two wood burning stoves on the go quite cozy too. A good selection of ales and cider and a nice selection of meals. The food is really good. I had the Pheasant Burger with Cranberry today on the managers recommendation and it was beautiful. I would recommend a visit. Thank you so much for yet another lovely meal. See you again soon 👌

The best place I've ever stayed at. The food is exquisite, huge portions and utterly delicious. The bedroom and facilities are outstanding. Beautiful interior design and attention to detail. Everything is fabulous, especially the warm welcome from the couple who own/run it, nothing was too much trouble. It's a real gem, only minutes away from Barnard Castle. The only bad thing about this place is having to leave.

We were made to feel really welcome. The food was well-priced, of good portion size and really delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing and really pleasant. They also do their best to keep it family-friendly. Would gladly return if it were closer!

We went in without booking on a Sunday lunch time, with a child and a dog. They found us a quiet table in a corner. We ordered 3 Sunday roasts and they were on the table within 5 minutes. The food was fabulous. We will be having lunch here again.
