Excellent experience last night. The food was excellent, service likewise, and the drinks menu also brilliant. Definitely somewhere I'd revisit particularly for a drop in bar snacks and drinks venue. Not to say the a la carte isn't worth it (totally is!), just that the atmosphere lends itself nicely to other things too. Pitched at a nice level below the Leith starred venue. The venison dish in particular was outstanding.
Great experience!
customer oriented services: send message by the general email address and received quick answer; came to the restaurant one hour before my reservation and they find a way to accommodate us shortly.
Very well decorated, staff friendly and well trained, great food, real vegetarian options.
Menu organized by the main ingredient of the dish and available at the website.
We had a good time there!
The food in this place is unreal! I had the Wagyu with homemade pappardelle and the meat was not only huge but it also melted in the mouth. I wasn’t quite sure in the beginning if it would go well with the pasta but I was so wrong, it was delicious! My friend had the grouse and he loved it as well. I will definitely come back and would recommend to anyone.
A first time eater in Kora and it definitely did not disappoint. The concept of nature to plate really resonates with me and I was extremely impressed by the dishes on the menu. Tom is known for always using local, seasonal produce so I was really excited to finally be in one of his restaurants. The pea soup as a starter was extremely good, very light but a good portion. I had the monkfish for the main and it was paired so perfectly with the other seafood elements of the dish. I had a floating island for dessert which was equally delicious. A great place for a special occasion, I’ll definitely be coming back.

Today I come before the creator of the universe to show my eternal gratitude for giving me the opportunity to taste such blessed food. I had the Wagyu parpadelle and everything in it was cooked to perfection; the meat was tender and juicy, the vegetables absorbed the flavours from the sauce wonderfully, and the leaves provided an excellent refreshing taste. The moment the food got to the table, everyone went silent because they could not stop eating, occasionally breaking this silence to exclaim how good the quality and taste of the was. I also had the dessert attached as a picture, and let me tell you that I had never tasted anything like it. The texture gently stroked every taste bud on your tongue and filled your soul with the same happiness you get when you gently kiss your beloved partner.
On top of this, the service and atmosphere was nothing less than impeccable. I loved the tiled walls and the different lamp shapes.
This restaurant is genuinely worth the price, specially because the portions will perfectly satiate your hunger.
Service was amazing, the waiter was so knowledgeable and communication really showed. The food was delicious too. Wasn't overly fussed for the wine, I've had better
Excellent attention to detail in every aspect of service and meal. We had four appetizers and one main for two of us and walked out stuffed and happy. Well done.
Had a beautiful meal here during our stay in Edinburgh. Our four course meal started with some brillant recommendations from our extremely attentive waiter and the quality of food continued throughout (even if we were too stuffed to finish our main!). Lovely wines too, brillant quality ingredients to make such beautiful looking and tasting food, for an overall amazing experience of a meal.
Were here for dinner after a gin cruise in Edinburgh. Staff were very professional and friendly. Food was absolutely amazing and gluten free options available.
We had a fantastic meal with our three adult children at the end of Oct-2022. Service was friendly and in line with the 'relaxed yet elegant' theme. The food itself was outstanding, and was a step above the Michelin starred food that we had eaten the night before. The ox-tongue ravioli in consommé was truly exquisite, but all dishes were superb.
No hesitations with the five star review.
We had a late lunch during the weekend, loved the starters and desserts, yet a bit disappointed with the mains.
Starters - the smoked salmon was excellent, well cured and pleasantly chewy, complemented with a runny poached egg in a very tasty hollandaise sauce; the beef tartare was well seasoned and not overshadowing the flavour of the meat.
Mains - sadly the monkfish was very salty, over seasoned, though its compliments - the sauce and fish cake were nice and delicious; the braised beef was fine, yet it didn’t retain the right texture of wagyu - cooking a wagyu well done is just not a good idea.
Desserts - both desserts we had were great, with good combinations of flavour and texture. Well presented as well.
Welcoming staff and cozy environment.
Lovely welcoming place with food that offers a wide variety. Some Asian influence in a few dishes. The star was the Wagyu with tagliatelle. Yumm!
Kora in Bruntsfield is a true gem in the Edinburgh food scene. This charming eatery serves up an impressive selection of modern Scottish cuisine, with a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients and innovative flavour combinations.
The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, with stylish decor and comfortable seating. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, always on hand to make recommendations and ensure that guests feel welcome and well taken care of.
As far as it concern the food, it was really tasteful and the wagyu is a must have option. The fish fillet was a bit drier that I would expect but still very tasty. On the desert side I would be avoiding the doughnuts next time but definitely i would recommend the Floating island.
Overall, Kora is a recommendation to visit for anyone looking for a dining experience in Edinburgh. With delicious food, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere, it is a restaurant that truly stands out from the crowd.
Delicious dinner! The food here was top notch 👌
Highly recommend the pork belly main and the mussels starter. All our dishes were great but these 2 stood out. The pork skin was so crispy and the meat very juicy and tender. The mussels portion was generous for a starter and they were cooked to perfection - super juicy, plump and flavourful. Add a generous pour of red wine and friendly service, it made for a lovely evening!
Fantastic lunch had here with lovely ambience, friend and welcoming service and delicious food. Well deserved accompaniment to the Kitchin group of restaurants.
Our knowledgeable server recommended a number of dishes to us, including the grouse of which was phenomenal.
Wine and cocktail list looked comprehensive, but both my partner and I were incredibly hungover… so I highly recommend their hot and iced coffees!
Highly recommended!
We visited Kora for a mid week dinner for a mini celebration. We were made to feel very welcome and relaxed atmosphere. Decor is beautiful. Food was amazing! I shared the scallop starter with my mother. It really was the highlight of the meal. My artichoke main was incredibly tasty but I thought the strong cheese actually overwhelmed the delicate flavour of the artichoke. I will definitely be back regularly!
Another wonderful restaurant by Tom Kitchen!! Well worth the time to enjoy a dinner there!! Food is excellent as is the service!!
Outstanding Dinner, delicious food and super nice service. Especially appreciated the support in the whisky selection. Surely a place to remember and come back once in Edinburgh again. Thank you very much!!
It was amazing! Food was fantastic, I have a cod. It melted in the mouth. My daughter has had pasta with chanterelles, which is delicious. Desserts and snacks are so tasty. And the benefit of all this joy of atmosphere, service and kaleidoscope of taste was the personal welcome wishes of Mr Kitchin. Looking forward to being there one more time. Again and again :) Oh, I am very strict on the coffee taste. The coffee was one of the best too!!!
