Reviews Aemilia

If you are reading this whilst sitting on the beach thinking about how you don’t want to cook dinner when you are back home, then don’t go further. This is the best Pasta in Edinburgh, if not Scotland. They have different sauces on rotation but always something for everyone. The Ragu, the different butters, the Carbonara.... No matter what you get, it will bring you to the brink of tears of happiness. The Tiramisu is incredibly creamy and the Focaccia super fluffy. The latter comes with a small tub of olive oil and balsamic that will make all other olive oil taste like nothing to you. The only slightly better pasta or Tiramisu was in Rome. But everything here is flavourful and simply heavenly. It can be on the pricey side but it is worth it. One of our favourite things to do is get pasta from Aemilias, salmon from the Fishmonger down the road and then have salmon pasta with fresh dill from our garden, whilst listening to Andrea Bocelli and dreaming about Italy.

I keep meaning to write a review of this place!! I love it. Pasta is my favourite human invention and boy oh boy do they know how to make it. Very friendly service, a beautiful shop, and the tastiest lasagna around (everything I have had from them has been *chef's kiss* but lasagna is my fave).

Hear me out. I'm Italian, born in Bologna but lived most of my life in Rome. My mum used to take the train every Christmas up to Bologna to buy 5kg of handmade tortellini. I was about 10 years old and didn't get it, until I tasted them. I stumbled upon this place by chance walking in Portobello and bought some tortellini with broth to try at home, curious to see how they were. After the first spoonfull I almost cried at my childhood memories rushing back. They are THAT good. Go there and try what they have to offer, you will not regret it. 10/10

This was a lucky find on a Saturday evening. We had lasagne and the ricotta spinach ravioli. Both were fantastic! We will be back next time we are in Edinburgh. See you :)

Amazing pasta and people. What more can you ask for? Every time I’ve visited I have not been disappointed. The focaccia is to die for and goes so well with the pasta. Well worth a visit!

A little bit of home near Edinburgh. I’m not from Italy, but there’s a pretty good pasta place near where I live and this place is even better. Had a pasta on the beach and fought a seagull over the tortellini

Freshly made pasta and sauces. Well made and well presented. Made on the premises. Just so much better than the supermarket bought equivalent- more expensive but worth it

Best pasta in Scotland, without a doubt run by the two loveliest people you'll ever encounter. Ps. please resume the sit-in pasta Sundays..!

Amazing. Just had the nicest lunch of tortellini in chicken broth and the best focaccia. Perfect half portion for our 3 year old who loved it. Great value and thank you to the owners for being so kind and accommodating of our little one. Just lovely. Will be back!

This place is a taste of Italy.. When we come home from Italy and feel sad..we order and collect. Highly recommended early orders as they sell out fast.. My family loves the pasta and the ragu. The Tortellini reminds us of the little take pasta place in Venice where go..nobody can beat nonna home cooking, but this is a close.. I live the insta posts of the making of the fresh pasta, the owners are so kind and friendly
