Whoa! This place was amazing! I loved all the unique pancake options from sweet to savory -- was so hard to choose which ones to get! The pancakes came out really quickly and were as delicious as they looked and the latte was perfect! Would definitely go back if I find myself back in Edinburgh!!
Yum!
I had the gluten free version of the spiced pear stack… and omg! It was soo good!
If you’re looking for a great pancake that’s gluten free, try here!
So many options to choose from, especially if you make your own.
The restaurant itself was really nice, comfortable seating. It wasn’t too busy when we went around 12pm.
The day we went wasn’t busy at all, but we’ve heard it’s best to book in advance during tourist season! Service was just a bit slow despite it being basically empty. It seemed nice and spacious, it could have good energy when it’s more full up. Our food was delicious though, very happy with how it turned out. Maple syrup is a bit expensive for what it is, but it could be down to importing it? A warning for those travelling far, might not be the place to go with jet lag. I find it hard to work up an appetite after a long flight so if you’re the same, save it for a few days into your trip.
Really yummy and very nice decor etc, the only thing is that the second pancake is too dry, the toppings didn't seem to be increased when you add a second pancake which makes it only really the top one that has a topping and then it's a plain second pancake. Still delicious and a beautiful restaurant.
Big choice of pancakes but I was expecting the filling to be inbetween the pancakes not just put on top.
I can understand the name of the single and double stack but the short stack is bigger with 3 pancakes !
Why isn't it called a triple or triple decker ?
Having 3 pancakes made it very stodgy because there isn't enough topping compared to the amount of pancake.
The taste of the pancakes was ok but not great.
The venue is very nice with 3 dufferent levels and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Love this place! Massive pancake fan and so many options here, we had to go. A group of 6, quickly seated and we ordered via the QR code as instructed. Bit cheeky asking for a tip before we had even experienced the food or service though! 2 of our group didn't get their order for 25 minutes after the rest of us did so that spoiled the experience a little. However, when raised with the server, he immediately fixed it and gave them a full refund which was very kind and not expected. The food: amazing! Honestly! 5* is deserved despite a little mix up.
Super tasty stacks and an excellent selection for toppings!
Service was very fast and there was no compromise in quality at all.
It sounds cursed but the Donner kebab stack worked so surprisingly well 😂
Great little pancake place with build your own and set options. The set options are great if you’re not too sure what you’re after. They’ve thought of some amazing flavour combinations. Definitely recommend.
AMAZING ambiance, nice staff. 3 stacks is A LOT! The size and portions are good so if you are an average size person, one or 2 stacks are enough. The idea of make your own with all these options is amazing, the protein pancake was surprisingly delicious. Their own combinations are interesting and unique, on the savory side, Falafel goes on top of my list BUT without the sriracha sauce, then the beef barbacoa and the Kebab, the Mexicans chicken is worth the try as well. On the sweet side, it will all depend on how much of a sweet tooth you are, but in general, I think the chocolate syrup should be removed from any of them, every other thing is fresh and yummy, then this syrup comes and add it’s super packaged flavor of cheap chocolate 😅.
I would suggest they try making fried chicken pancakes, similar to the fried chicken waffles, I would love to try that!
you need to pay one pound for each to go boxes you need to use for leftovers. The prices of everything are on the pricy side, so I can’t see what is this about? would you rather we leave the leftovers to trash than take them home? It was weird and added a cheap attitude from management!
So glad we found this on our trip to Edinburgh. A really fascinating building with so much room inside. The staff are very welcoming and from ordering to our food and drinks arriving it was an easy and efficient process.
The choices are amazing, no added sugar, sweet, savoury buttermilk, buckwheat, protein, gluten free, low fat pancakes, they cater for most peoples requirements.
The food is delicious. A gem of a place. Please can we see Stack and Still restaurants in other parts of the country.
We had never tried pancakes this way, but we really enjoyed. Service was excellent and offered app ordering. Can order direct with the waiter to.
Popped in for brunch.
2 pancakes is enough, he had 3 and the 3rd just wasn't touched by sauce so it was dry.
Thankfully I had some chocolate/caramel left so he could have "dessert pancake" 🤣
The friendly staff seated us quickly and explained the option of ordering via human or via QR code. I chose the latter which was easy enough to navigate.
I had a decent cup of coffee which was refillable for free.
I went for a savoury single pancake which was delicious. The buckwheat pancake was quite dense so needs more than one sauce option I reckon. Pancake was very filling! Tde peri peri sauce and sweet peppers were spicy but not very hot to taste. Fried egg was a bit plasticky but that is my only minor quibble - all in all it was fine, and very filling.
Service was attentive and quick at a quite busy lunchtime during the Festival.
Their pancakes are super good and amazing, they almost have every option and choice someone would think of. The staff are really kind and amazing and available. Their chicken are halal from Poland according to them alongside their kebab. Their cappuccino is amazing and their pancakes portion is very sufficient. Their sauces are bit little otherwise everything is perfect.
Had some of the best pancakes I have ever eaten. Atmosphere was friendly. The pancakes were insane. I have the poached Pear and they didn’t disappoint
Great food.... struggled to finish it so don't be tempted to order too much! Service also very good. Venue very American and quite novel. Highly recommended.
We went after a festival show.
Great menu and friendly staff.
Weve been before and We will be back
