This is situated inside the Scottish Marketplace at new St James Centre,Edinburgh at the junction of Princes St. and Leith Walk. There is an absolutely amazing array of restaurants to choose from covering most popular cuisines. After much debate we plunked for Salt&Chilli and had some wonderful Katsu chicken dishes with rice and salt& Pepper fries. It was a great pre concert meal. You could come here 10 times and never be dissatisfied with the choices. Bill was a reasonable £42 for 2 meals, soft drinks, coffees a shared large slice of cake.

A great selection of eateries and a nice atmosphere. The queue looked daunting at first but actually moved very swiftly. A well run operation with helpful staff throughout. Definitely somewhere I will return to. There are lots of tasty, local options to try inside.

There's a good mix of cuisines to choose from. Some of the prices are steep especially for the portion sizes, but the food was delicious. Some of the counters are out of certain food if you go in the evening. If you're seated near the speakers, the music is a bit too loud. Other than that, it's a lovely atmosphere. There's halal chicken at a couple of the counters, ask them on the day, they're very helpful in pointing you to other halal counters.

This review is two in one since I cannot write separate reviews for Bonnie & Wild and the restaurant/ food stand from which we ordered our food. Let’s start with the food shall we? Stack & Still I believe that’s what it is called, is a pancake food stand with both sweet and savoury options and the ability to create your own custom pancake. I chose a banana with chocolate caramel double stack(I’m a sweet tooth in case you hadn’t noticed it yet) and my wife a beef barbacoa double stack (she is more a savoury type). The pancakes were quickly served and were very delicious. If you were to eat here I would recommend this food stand. 4 stars. Now comes the not so nice bit and thats why I’m a bit annoyed that I cannot write two separate reviews. The thing is that the service of Bonnie & Wild itself is rather lacklustre and appalling. When we arrived there was no queue or anyone of the personnel to appoint us a table. So we decided to pick one ourselves. After ordering our food we thought of moving to different free table because of the size of our first choice. While we were moving we got told that the specific table in question was for 4 people only. Fine. The waitress did point us to to a different place that was adequate so we decided to go there instead. While again moving our stuff to this bench we got stopped by a different employee who had too big of a mouth for his job and started to tell us we couldn’t sit at this bench for some reason. The reason was probably legit, but the tone and the way the teenager (I assume) behaved towards us was unnecessary and in no way how a waiter should behave. He told us that we were assigned a place and that we should stay seated there. This was not true since no one helped us when we walked in and we assumed to take place wherever we could find a seat. We were not familiar with this place since it was our first time and then to be treated like this felt even more unnecessary especially since I already ordered our food. Were it not for the fact that we already ordered our food that we probably would have left because of this situation. So the 4 stars are NOT for Bonnie & Wild, they can get one star for providing a table, eventually.

Brilliant! So good we came back the next day. We orderd from Leith Wok the first time beautiful fresh chinnese food. Second time we orderd from Creel Caught, great seafood! Brilliant place to take family especially as there is lots of different kitchens to choose from. Very very reasonable prices for huge plate of food.

Salt and chilli prawns were yummy and the counter lady was flexible with allowing me to switch out the fries for more salad. 👍👍 4/5 stars The steam mussels were somewhat fishy though, not a fan ❌🙅🏻‍♀️ 1/5 stars

Good food and I like the concept, but it's a bit of faff. Could there not be a way to order online/centrally, to save having to walk round every unit and photograph menus?

A great idea for a communal eating space where all members of the party can choose a different place to eat from. Ate both lunch and dinner here, great pizza and great fried chicken! Great spot for a party, family meal or a date.

Love this place so much! A fantastic selection of great quality Scottish produce in a unique environment all in one location! We keep going back! Can be a wait at busy times to get in but honest, stick with it, it's worth the wait. The White Heather Club on the last Thursday of each month is great craic.

Really good dining experience, handy for groups of people that have different tastes, as there is a wide variety of streetfood like stalls in here with plenty of choice. I went with the Sri Lankan, which was really tasty and my partner took some really good fish and chips. Finished off with some pancakes & were stuffed afterwards.

My favourite place to visit when in Edinburgh!! Don’t be put off by the queue at the door- it’ll be worth waiting for. From a quick coffee with friends to evening cocktails for date night this is the place to be. The new cocktail menu for summer 23 offers some real treats.

Great place to go for a quick meal. Its a food hall with lots of selections from pizza and burgers to Sri Lankan street food, noodles, and gelato. I found Bonnie & Wild to be especially great for solo travelers who often find it difficult to find a place to eat for dinner without a reservation. Prices vary but most venues here range from 8-15 pounds. Personally, I tried the vegan pizza at East Pizzas. To my surprise, it was very good. The man making the pizzas (didn’t catch his name but he had a hair bun) was very kind and welcoming. Would recommend this place for a laid back meal, especially for those looking for some variety and/or on a budget. Note: this is located on the upper floor (I believe it’s the 4th floor) of St. James Quarter.

We ate here at our day of arrival in Edinburgh. We ate the stacked pancakes one with the typical Scottish breakfast on top and one Piri Piri pancake. Both tasted very delicious and we will have another lunch or breakfast here.

It is one of my favourite places to hang out with friends, colleagues, and family. Great ambience, delicious food, nicely laid out fancy food court where there are choices of various cuisines like oriental, srilankan, seafood, fastfood, pizzas and etc A place where everyone can enjoy. We ordered 1. Fish n chips from Creel Caught 9/10. Perfecly seasoned, crispy fried chippy lying under a batter fried haddock fillet. Accompanied by a nicely pickly and tangy tartar sauce. 2. Creel Craught platter 9/10. My brother wipped off the whole platter. Each and every seafood item tasted delicious. Langoustine was the hero of the dish. 3. Burger and chicken tenders from Chooks were insanely good! 10/10. One place I won't mind going back over and over again. The chicken burger and tenders were tender, juicy, and perfectly spiced n seasoned. Waffle fries were very nice and crispy. The dips were going pretty with the tenders and fries. (Halal) 4. Scottish Honey Chilli Chicken from Salt n Chilli Oriental 9/10. Another thing I would look forward to eating at B&W when I'm in the mood for some hot and tangy Hong-Kong style streetside stir-fried honey glazed chicken. This flavour bomb is a must one to try. 5. Stack & Still pancakes 10/10. Deliciously addictive buttermilk sweet and savoury pancakes come with a choice of different toppings and accompaniments like whipped cream, maple syrup, fruits and etc. It is one of my go-to places for pancakes at any time of the day. 6. Joelato 6/10 wasn't that great as expected. Tried their pistachio flavour gelato in which I could barely taste the pistachio. The creaminess in it was overpowering the whole flavour. The cone was pretty good, though.

Late lunch, short wait before we got our table and 1st impressions were good. Great selection of food and we all chose a different “kitchen” to eat from. I had roast pork from Leith Wok and it was really tasty. Other food was good and I finished with a milkshake from Joelatto. Glad we waited the short while to get in as it’s now our new go-to place for lunch in Edinburgh!
