First visit and an excellent one to Format, and fully expect to visit again as we had great food, great Flat White and flavoursome fruit Tea a good chat with Andrei. Very cool inside, very unique and a fabulous font chosen for the name and menu! Format really care about the coffee quality and the food menu is changed and tweaked with love and care. A small jewel right next to the Meadows and one worth seeking out!

The bagels we had were brilliant.. we got the smoked salmon cream cheese & and dill, and we got the vegan one, which was superb. One of the best bagels I've had. The coffee, though, wasn't my fav, I still have not found a really good coffee place in Edinburgh. But I would come again for the bagel and maybe try something else like hot chocolate or a matcha (I don't remember if they do do matcha or not). Great bagels. There are a few seating areas outside and inside.

Really lovely small cafe just off the meadows. Hands down the best bagel ive had in the city - and the coffee was amazing aswell. Not the cheapest place to eat in Edinburgh but you certainly get what you pay for. The bagel was £7.90 and the coffee was £3-4 Will definitely be visiting again

10/10 coffee made by a real enthusiast. High quality produce used to make both delicious coffee and fantastic food. I had the comete and prosciutto croissant and it was fantastic. A small but cozy place to sit and an excellent little haven to spend a morning in. No WiFi, a pro or a con depending on your wants and needs. Owner operated, they are talented, friendly and knowledgeable. Strong reccomend.

Amazing place, perfect for brunch, lunch or tea break! Chilled atmosphere, delicious bagels and very aromatic tea! Highly recommend to try their Moroccan Mint tea, very refreshing 😌 Would definitely visit again when nearby

This was a VERY GOOD cup of coffee. The best we had found in the city. It was empty mid day when we went, but service was very pleasant and nice to talk to. They have a few offerings of small bites, canned drinks, and bagged coffee. Also a small menu of hot food items that was printed making me assume it may change every now and again. This is artisan coffee at its best.

A small café for quality coffee and savory bagels. The specialty coffee they serve is one of the best in Edinburgh, and those we had were bold. We also liked the steak melt and green pesto with chicken bagels a lot - excellently toasted and truly delicious. Tasteful décor, with home brewing equipment and coffee beans for sale as well. Great place for specialty coffee lovers.

This is the place to go if you’re really into your coffee. Had a delicious cappuccino and the outdoor seating was pleasant. It’s a small spot so a seat is hot property! Would’ve liked a slightly larger portion for the price and also there are no loos here which isn’t great for a coffee shop!

I hardly ever write reviews. But this coffee was so good I had to. I can’t believe how boring I am, but I’ve actually spent the whole week looking forward to the next one I can have. Which is tomorrow. So there. Lucky me. The croissant was pretty ace too. And the coffee machine is like something that might be in the Tardis.

Such a cosy, cute, little cafe, where you are almost afraid to enter as you get the feeling you’re entering someone’s home. Had I lived in Edinburgh, this would definitely be the place where I’d spend my weekend mornings. The coffee is quite good, the bagel was delicious, and the Italian crepes (with Mascarpone and Nutella) were OK too. The only thing I did not like was that the dishes were not sparkling clean - maybe something that can be improved in the future.
