Outstanding. We stopped by on the off-chance on our way to somewhere else and were taken in by the smell and the fact that many local Chinese were eating inside. We were not wrong. We had sublime prawn, lotus root and black fungus 清肺小炒, followed by feisty and moreish chicken gizzards 孜然鸡胗 and sumptu
The restaurant has a lively, busy atmosphere typical of many authentic Chinese restaurants. The servers were very friendly and attentive and service was quick. It might be a good idea to reserve a table at busy times as this restaurant is certainly popular. We had three main dishes between two peopl
Beat the dinner rush for an amazing Sichuan dinner for two. Ordered the spicy preserved egg tofu appetizer, garlic stir fry morning glory, and pickled veggie fish (best dish!). Everything was super yummy and the portions were quite generous.
Real Chinese food, tasty.
The restaurant has a good location inside Edinburgh CBD.
They don’t have too many tables and you have to wait in the busy times during the day. And the restaurant is very crowded during the busy times.
Also the dishes can come very slowly during the busy times. I waited for
Nice food. They are not shy of making the food spicy so be warned if your tolerance is low.
Good value for money. The dishes are a good size even if they seem small in the photos.
Always come back for their spicy pot. I’ve tried numerous spicy pot but I can easily say that they are the best, all the flavour was well-balanced, the portion was enough for two people. I love it!! Definitely must try
This may not be the usual go to place, but for a special occasion it is very nice! High quality service and the food is very delicious, especially the sauce in all the dishes, absolutely amazing together with rice! 😋 There are plenty of options to choose from covering all the range on the scale from
This place is ACTUALLY authentic, with a wide-ranging menu and everything tasty. The stunning pictures hanging around the restaurant of the dishes are actually what they look like when they're set on your table. The place is fairly small and seems to stay constantly busy, but the staff are still ext
We enjoyed our lunch here very much. The service was efficient and fast, the food was freshly prepared, and the chili oil was delicious! The menu is filled with sichuanese regional dishes, and there's plenty to choose from.
My Chinese friends brought me here which is close to McEwan hall , university of Edinburgh and National museum of Scotland, I guess the dishes here might satisfy the locals’ taste.
My bias is always fish so fish in chilli oil it’s simple warm and little spicy which go well with rice. The grilled se
We loved this place! The food was delicious and very authentic, we had the 水煮魚 (Sichuan spicy fish) and the 麻辣香鍋 (dry hot pot) with sesame sauce and both were excellent with reasonable prices (£15 and £19). The service was fast and workers were very nice. Cozy space, clean bathrooms — just a very po
Walking on a cold rainy night we wanted nice hot & spicy food , and just happened to pass by sichuan house . Gave it a try and definitely were super happy !!

Tried Sichuan House for the first time, and it won't be our last. Spacious restaurant with friendly staff offering polite and efficient service. Menu is amazingly different in a good way. Great portions! We had booked as this is a busy place in a student and tourist area, but "walk-ins" are popula
The closest to authentic dry hot pot you can get outside of China. We absolutely loved the flavors and had a great meal here.
We had the hotpot and added aubergine (so good), fish fillet (omg yes!), wood ear mushroom, needle mushroom, fish tofu, fish ball and potato slices - the best combo!

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Edinburgh for me. The staff is very friendly and well organized. Even though it was crowded they cared to get a table quickly for us. My favorite Chinese restaurant in Scotland. As an Asian American missing truly spicy food, this place hit the spot. The food made me cry (good tears ) and there was plenty of water nearby :)
Since visiting Scotland, my palate has been acclimating to the taste of foods limited flavour.
Lots of East
Very busy during weekend dinner, but worthy the waiting. Most people order the authentic Sichuan spicy dishes. I ordered several seafood dishes, very satisfied.
