Excellent pub almost Fringe-free so that you can enjoy the pub with normal prices.

This place is great for getting that comfort food craving solved. I've been scouring both Edinburgh and Glasgow for some authentic southern food, and now I finally know where to get my fix. The staff are super duper friendly, got served by the owner himself, they wiped off our table, made sure we were doing great the whole time. The portions were really generous, and even the Festival prices were pretty reasonable all things considered. Definitely will be going back!

Found this place by accident wandering near the university and popped in on impulse for lunch. If you're an American looking for some homestyle comfort food or from anywhere else and loves or wants to try American southern cooking, this is it. Ribs were great, large serving and while they wouldn't tell me if the sauce was commercial or homemade, it was really good. I've spent quite a bit of time in New Orleans and the jambalaya was quite good; no idea where they get okra in the UK! I'm not a mac and cheese fan, but was told the mac n cheese poppers were very good and filling as well. Only drink had was a strawberry daiquiri, but it was blended and good. Ambiance is rustic but there's plenty of room to spread out. Had a great experience there.
