Lovely little place, quirky and nicely decorated inside for the festive season! Ordered the crab and chorizo Mac and cheese with chips - it was a little too much for me (portion wise). The chips were fantastic, the Mac and cheese was nice, could have been more chorizo in it though! Good selection of
A bit quiet for a Saturday evening, only 3 tables, so service was excellent. Had the sweet potato wellington and house burger. Love it. The food was cook beautifully. Will definitely come back again.
I celebrated The First Tram To Newhaven by popping in here. Good choice. Friendly and convenient.
This new place has a beautiful decoration, super nice staff, and their music taste is similar to my own, so I enjoyed the music a lot. But the most important part of the business is food and drink and it was amazing. We will be back soon!
I love going here. Every time someone visits us we take them to Basils. Great fish and chips. Great burger.
Booked a table for a date night. The place is tidy and very beautifully decorated. The staff is friendly and very responsive. And the food.. The food is absolutely fantastic . The size of the dishes is abundant and the taste (Oh, the taste!) is even better! Would definitely recommend a meal there, i
Nice modern place. Service could be better, wobbly table didn't add to to my good mood. Food was not bad but egg Benedict was a little bit overcooked.
Pleasant bar / restaurant, though very quiet for a Friday lunchtime. Had the full breakfast which was good, hot and freshly cooked.
Not too bad for breakfast, nice coffee.
You ever get the feeling when you walk in a place that its just right? That's Basil's. Superb food, friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere. I'd highly recommend a visit. If you're staying at the Premier Inn at Leith too, the short walk is well worth it
A great spot in Leith for breakfast, dinner or a few drinks with friends, they always do an amazing quiz night! Highly recommend

Eggs were perfect, burger was amazing, stuff was nice. Great place to have a meal.
Basils is a restaurant and bar the newest edition to Newhaven and a most welcomed one too. It packs a punch in an up and coming area of Edinburgh. Its driven with a spectacular cocktail menu, they also provide breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great beers, wine and spirits are available also. So whatever
Veggie breakfast, without eggs (my choice). Delicious. It's a lovely place and a bonus to Annfield. Really reasonably priced. Very cheery staff. What more could you ask?
