Last weekend we celebrated one of my friends' birthday at this place. It was my first time coming here. The restaurant was full and we had to wait a bit to get seated. the selection was wide they had seafood, Mexican and Italian. Looked clean and the staff was nice.
Surprised my wife who loves all you can eat buffets with a trip to Mr Basrai whilst we were up visiting Edinburgh!Could not complain,there was a wide selection of foods, everything was fresh and the desserts were lovely! We would recommend to people with a big appetite.
Came here for my friends bday, cozy atmosphere and i loved it. Plenty of food to go round and the choice was massive and The staff are attentive! Will be back

We’ve been going there a lot! good for Chinese food. Always fresh and very tasty. Although last time we had to wait in a queue for an empty table but the staff were very helpful. Give it a go!

Visited on the weekend, the place was extremely busy but the staff were helpful & attentive and was asking customers if they had need sth else. Delicious food & dessert also the choice was too much and can't decide what to eat! I recommend this place more for fussy eaters.

Visited here for dinner with my father, there is plenty of food from everywhere with a free drink. The decoration is outstanding and has friendly & helpful staff, dad loves the ambiance & food quality here. We have no complaints!
Wonderful restaurant in a busy place (Haymarket) , I'm a regular customer since establishing, came here most of the times. The staff are caring and attentive, also there is fresh & tasty food every day! Their alacarte menu is a must try!
Lovely place with a massive selection of food from around the world, kids loved the desserts specially chocolate fountain with marshmallows and the staffs were extremely intimate. Everything was spotless just the only thing to complain is that it was a bit noisy! warm atmosphere also the place & toilet was clean. Would recommend to everybody!

Best place to eat with a group, there are lots of options even for fussy eaters, just the bad thing about that is, it's too crowded can't take a place at first, so booking in advance is advisable! the staffs treated us with tribute & courtesy, booking advisable! As a regular customer would defo recommend!

My friend had booked a table in advance, in spite we arrived one hour late but still, they had kept them empty for us! the soft drinks had free refills. There were different chefs from different culture & staffs all were helpful and pleasant, will continue visiting here!

My family took me this place for lunch, really fantastic place, lots of food and drinks. The most interesting thing about that is, there is several staffs to keep the food up with replenishing that, it's the perfect place to come if you can't decide what to eat!
I was in Edinburgh and hungry! decided to come to this restaurant with my friend, It was a surprisingly huge buffet restaurant, even hold to wait in a queue which was awesome! what was interesting for me there was a different chef for each cuisine! the toilet and place were clean, staffs were around and helpful. Will go back again
Last night was my wife birthday and I decided to take her to Mr. Basrai restaurant, with that decision I could make her happy, the staffs were pleasant and smiling they brought a cake with singing the happy birthday, we had a lovely night there. A must go to place!

I was in the world buffet many times but neither of them was like Mr. Basrai's world buffet, the selection of food & dessert is huge from around the world. The food is extremely tasty and fresh. Highly recommended.
This is my first visit to Edinburgh, the restaurant is fantastic with huge world buffet. it was the best experience in the world buffet that I ever had, definitely will back again!
This is just undoubtedly the best place there is in Edinburgh to get Authentic Indian Food. Though it is famous for Indian food,The other varieties also are exceptional.

Hi, I'm a Canadian living in Frankfurt, Germany. I was visiting Edinburgh in mid October last year to co celebrate my best girlfriend's 49th birthday and she suggested that we come to this restaurant. I tell you, I was never so impressed before by the elaborate buffet and the huge variety of food. The price is extremely reasonable, the atmosphere was great and the sweet girls serving our drinks and looking after us were just wonderful!! I was also impressed by the two boys behind the buffet table who did stir fries to order! Whenever I come back to Edinburgh, I will definitely put this restautrant on my itinerary of must places to visit. Keep up the great work!!

Went along to Mr Basrai's last week after a bloggers event! 2nd or 3rd time and I love the Indian dishes! I usually hate buffet places as I believe the food is always bland and effortless! (Cosmo being the worse) But Mr Basrai's is great! Full of flavour and Indian spices! The chicken tikka and sheek kabab is my favourite! Absolutely amazing with garlic bread mixed with freshy seasoned salad. There is room for better main dishes as I tend to go just for the starters. The deserts are horrible. Really annoying as I leave more than half my tummy empty just for cake. The mocktails are amazing! Refreshing and sweet! My sisters finished there's pretty fast! The service is a hit or a miss, first time we went the manger was great! As my nephews came and they barely ate so he charged us less but this time another management was being pretty awkward or rude when we asked to split the bill. I will defo be back for the tikka and samosas. Halal which is always a plus!
I visited Mr Basrais on its opening night! The interior is gorgeous. The food is a hit or a miss, but with the massive selection they have to offer there is definitely something for everyone. Personally I loved the British section and Sea food! However, as a curry lover the curry for me was pretty bland. Regardless, I enjoyed my experience there and its a great place to visit for a family gathering.
Great place for food. Love the atmosphere and ambiance. Staff is so good and supportive. We spend almost 2 hours and it's very homily. All food items are speech less especially ice cream 🍦. It's been a year here but we did not get that tast any ware. Love the flavors of ice cream. All the staturs are so delicious, juicy 😋 😍. Main course speech less. Best time to visit is afternoon so that you can spend good time as you won't see mush rush, but in the evening it will be more fun and Party mood. Welcome staff and wish to thank each and every staff here.
Service was 10/10. Choice of food was great and the food itself was very good. Heavily leaned towards Indian cuisine which is no bad thing. Masala Dosa and Seekh Kebab were made fresh to order and they were excellent, if not a little too spicy. Had to take time for my mouth to cool down but I ate it all because it was so tasty. Chicken Tikka was my favourite and the homemade warm Gulabjamun were amazing!
It was one of the best places in Scottsland to visit if you love to eat. You can get unlimited food of all kinds for around £20 and we had over £50 worth of tasty food. I think you can also get around 5% discount on your bill if you show your student ID card on working days.

I was very pleasantly surprised by Mr Basrai's. It's still a buffet and it's still (in my opinion) a smidge overpriced because of that. But the sheer variety and quality on offer is impressive. Certainly better than a number of takeaways I've had!
My family and I dined here, it's a lovely restaurant, spacious and great atmosphere. Staff are wonderful and attentive. The food choices are really good and cater for everyone

Food was lovely for a buffet with a great choice. Staff are friendly and well knowledged and best of all smiled. Depending on where your seated the atmosphere can differ. If your in a table in the middle of the booths you can feel very uncomfortable and have to be prepared to dodge people that keep going to and from the buffet but if your in a booth it was good. I will be going back and this time am going to try the chaat. :) thank you Mr Basrai's 😊
Food and atmosphere on 4☆. Normal buffet with no specials maybe during the dinner there are more dishes but during lunch no big impressions.
