Traverse Bar Cafe - Edinburgh - Photo album

Subterranean bar with excellent vegan options. Steep raked seating gives everybody clear sight lines. We saw ‘Blood Harmony’ featuring three part close harmony singing from three female actors, addressing love, loss, and sisterhood.
Have just been to see Brian James O'Sullivan, meeting with a monk ..... excellent (am from Yorkshire..I rarely use this word :)) ,go see him , thought provoking
Went to see We Were Promised Honey! The show was quirky and intimate; it made for an interesting evening and kept us on our toes. The traverse theatre was a warm and sweet venue with a lovely bar area, authentic theatre rooms and moderate priced drinks.
Brilliant show again love that they don't just pick run off the mill things and nurture home talents
I would have expected No Love Song to be in the main theatre. My partner found it difficult to get down all the stairs with no obvious sign of a lift.
My first visit to this venue. Very impressed. Lovely FoH and bar staff. Comfortable seating in Traverse 1.
Just saw 'After the Act'... brilliant show, lovely vibey theatre 🎭 Thanks for a great experience
Nice venue pity about all people who can't sit through gig my toddlers behave better and hold toilet in compared to all these adult babies who couldn't. at Simon Fowler gig. What a singing voice of any kind of music makes it look easy that guy has
Great place! Lucky to have attended both Trav 1 and 2. Great bar area, plenty of seating. Looking forward to coming back again. Staff friendly and attentive.
Yesterday I saw "Until Its Gone" by Alison Carr . It was excellent and the acting was also very good . I am a retired professional actress . Also a member of Actors Equity for 60 years .I think you are obliged to give the actor's names at the beginning of the show as we had no idea who they were.Pl
Great place. Ben there for a business event. Mind the stairs, they are super ultra stipp!
Lovely Theatre. We saw a small production at lunch hour. It was fun and creative. A great plan to do while on a day out in Edinburgh. The room was full so I'd say it's best to book tickets in advance.
My favourite theatre in Edinburgh! Fantastic diverse plays and as a student the £1 scheme made it lighter on my pocket and easier to recommend to friends. Great place, great people. With new writing you always take a risk, but I gained a lot of trust in the Traverse and the plays they stage.
Saw an excellent play in Traverse 1. The raked seating gives good, unrestricted views of the stage, but isn't the most comfortable when the auditorium is full. Would benefit from being able to take orders for interval drinks.
I’ve never seen anything here that I didn’t love. Traverse is everything a great theatre company should be.
Excellent new writing at this Theatre, play a pie and pint offering is fantastic. Reasonably good bar also, only gripe would be that there do seem to be several down periods where not a lot is on.
Saw Dean Owens performing here in the bar. Good sound, not too cramped although it was sold out. Good venue.
Good venue but the stairs on the auditorium are a bit narrow
We were there for a student performance n arrived early, looking for a coffee but bar had v limited offering. Apart from that it was a v good experience:staff were helpful n friendly, amenities well appointed n clean n theatre comfortable.
