This place is the best little sandwich shop in Edinburgh. I always go here for my lunch and the staff are warm, friendly, theres a great selection, and they are even accommodating if you have a fussy order like me where they will custom build your sandwich.
Rough prices:
Sandwich ~£3
Soup ~£1.50
Lunch deal with a drink ~£5
(If they have the quiches in, get a quiche. Even if you don't like quiche, trust me.)
I LOVE Herbie West End. Fabulous soups with plenty choice, great selection of fillings for sandwiches, wraps or panninis and baked potatoes, salads etc. There's even freshly made bread loaves and rolls to buy. Great staff too who deal with the daily queue with ease and speed. What's not to love! Heading across the road right now for my daily fix.
Some of the best soup I've ever had from a deli.
Always good but today's Vichyssoise is fantastic
Great bread, sandwiches and nice folks!
Best sandwiches ever! That is all............
A great place to get lunch from when in town. Great sandwiches with interesting fillings and a great collection of soups (changes daily). The bread from their bakery is delicious as well. Not the cheapest actin the West End, but definitely worth it for the quality.
We showed up as a group of 12, the lad Rob took our large order and got stuck in getting it sorted. We are very grateful for his patience, after a couple of the girls changed their mind about what they were having. But he did it with a smile on his face and the Lorne rolls was delicious!
Friendly service, good food, great prices esp. on soup/panini or soup/salad combos.
Another lovely lunch place in the West End! Super tasty soups and coffee. Love that they encourage you to bring your own cup/containers!
I visit here for my lunch probably three times a week. I think it's ace. The sandwiches/rolls are better and cheaper than nearby chains but it's the selection of soups which is the real star. So good. Also, the staff are super friendly.
Lovely little take-away place with freshly baked bread and a wide variety of pre-made sandwiches, baguettes and wraps with daily fresh homemade soup. If you can't find what you want from the selection, they will happily make your sarnie to order.
The staff are all very friendly and chatty which (along with the above) makes this one of my regular lunch stops!
Fantastic tiny take-away place.
They have a massive array of sandwiches, ranging from sliced bread, to baguettes and wraps together with their large collection of freshly made soups! They have a section in the back which allows you to customise your own sandwich as well. Lots of various deals which allows you to buy a selection of pieces for a set price, making it a fantastic bargain.
Also sells baked loaf bread which comes from their own bakery off-site! Seaweed Sodabread is amazing!

About 6 or more soups to choose from every day, as well as baked potatoes with any 2 fillings. Nice and cheap, I come here regularly. There's no seating, so you'll have to take your lunch somewhere to eat.
One of the best place for a nice lunch in the west end. Fresh soup, fresh salads, fresh orange juice, amazing bread 👌🏻
Amazing little Sandwhich shop. I recommend going at 12 to avoid queue. Go for there soups. They are so good
