New owners did amazing job in this long established cafe. It's now a clean, bright place with friendly service and most important - delicious homemade food. Love their bacon rolls, fresh soups, and chicken curry is a must try if you're there for lunch! I'd highly recommend this cafe!
Having recently changed hands, after Helen Larkin had been in charge of the place for a mammoth 36 years, Up the Junction, on Great Junction Street is starting life afresh after having been part of the local fabric for four decades. I’d never previously visited, rather shamefully, but I rectified that on a recent early morning trip to Leith.
Can't recommend this place highly enough. I have driven passed the cafe so many times but have never gone in.
I spent a couple of hours there waiting on my car to be fixed at a near by garage.
I was surprised by how nice it was. Lovely coffee and food. Friendly, helpful staff, cheap and a lovely atmosphere. Amy went out of her way to make a special dish for a customer that did not want it spicy.
It's these lovely small business that make Edinburgh special.
