Absolute favorite breakfast spot in Edinburgh! The owners Emma and Guy are two of the genuinely nicest people I have ever met. With fresh coffee, cinnamon Belgian waffles and bacon drizzled in maple syrup, and a relaxed atmosphere you can't spend your Saturday morning any better!
Best little nook in Edinburgh! I eagerly watched them rebuild the original space into this charming little cafe which offers scrumptious breakfast food, wonderful hot drinks, and more. I've been in love with the place since the first time I had breakfast there, and generally make it a point to stop
This place is, quite simply, the best. I spent a semester abroad in Edinburgh, and The Tartan Stag became my Scottish home away from home. Guy's cooking is fantastic, Emma's teas and hot chocolate are delicious, and chatting with both of them most every day made the whole semester much, much better.
Emma and Guy are so friendly and hospitable. Great food and drink with good service (plus they cater for lactose free)
Love their homemade craft goods as well.
Just the best coffee we have found in the Newington area - or all of Edinburgh. Worth a return visit.
